Law and needs of adoptive parents and problemtic areas in the process of adoption

Bachelor thesis deals with the adoption system issue in Czech Republic. It focuses primarily on the rights and needs of adopters in the adoption process and problematic parts of the adoption system. The thesis is divided into three parts. The theoretical part defines the basic terms and legal regulations of adoption and chronologically describes the process of adoption from the decision making for adoption through the submission of application form, expert assessment of applicants, completion of preparation and psychological testing to the period of waiting for the child and the period after adoption. In the methodological part is defined the conducted qualitative research, in which were interviewed various participants of the adoption process: social workers, NGO workers and adoptive parents. Results of the research are then interpreted in the last, analytical part. There were defined many problematical parts and they permeate all phases of adoption process. As significant problems can be considered lack of clarity in the motivation of applicants while entering into the adoption process, lack of credibility of social workers caused by the negative media image, the trend of increasing age of the applicants, inconsistent methodic and quality level of mandatory preparation, lack of finance and...
