Functions of Consciousness in Psychoanalysis and Analytical Psychology

Analysis of the most important functions of consciousness, considering its relations with unconsciousness in psychoanalysis and analytical psychology, is the goal of this thesis. The sources of the thesis are the tophographic and structural models of Sigmund Freud. These models enable analysing the functions of consciousness in the context of psyche structure from the psychoanalytical and psychodynamic point of view. Afterwards the thesis focuses on the extension and the functional autonomy of Ego within the structural subject theory known from authors like A. Freud, Hartmann, Brunner and others. These are the concepts of adaptation and Ego defensive functions especially. Carl Gustav Jung and his concept of the fully antonomous Ego is presented in the end of the theoretical part. The research project, that si being proposed in the very end of this thesis, deals with one of the Ego defense mechanisms - the repression. Dynamic Software Architectures for Resilient Distributed Systems

Resilient Distributed Systems (RDS) are large-scale distributed systems that remain de-pendable despite their very dynamic, open-ended, and inherently unpredictable environ-ments. This combination of system and environment properties makes development of soft-ware architectures for RDS using contemporary architecture models and abstractions very challenging. Therefore, the thesis proposes: (1) new architecture abstractions that are tailored for building dynamic software architectures for RDS, (2) design models and processes that endorse these abstractions at design time, and (3) means for efficient implementation, execu-tion, and analysis of architectures based on these abstractions. Specifically, the thesis delivers (1) by introducing the DEECo component model, based on the concept of component ensembles. Contributing to (2), the thesis presents the Invari-ant Refinement Method, governing dependable, formally-grounded design of DEECo-based architectures, and the ARCAS method, focusing on dependable realization of open-ended dynamic component bindings typical for DEECo. Ethnic Identity and conflict (on the Example of Multiethnic Territory of Cruise Ships)

In my doctoral thesis, which I have elaborated on the basis of my diploma thesis Doubled Identity of Crew Members on Cruise Ships as the Instrument of Cultural Adaptation, supervised by Mgr. Helena Tužinská, PhD., I have analysed the way of life of crew members sharing the multiethnical territory of cruise ships. Crew members working there come from over 50 different countries. In spite of their different origins and cultures which have been forming their behaviour and way of thinking, they share small space without any conflicts. My goal is to sum up the basic conditions which should be met in any multiethnical society to ensure that there would not be any conflicts between its habitants. According to my hypothesis there is a need of other than ethnical identity which could unify them on other than ethnical basis. In the territory of cruise ships it is the socio-professional identity of 'crew member '. I found out that there are two main factors responsible for successful co-existence of people from different cultures here - communication and the system of values. Bram Stoker's novel Dracula and its film adaptations: A comparative analysis

The master thesis analyses and compares the main characters of three significant works concerning the Dracula theme. It provides a comparison of Bram Stoker's Dracula and its film adaptations, namely Nosferatu - Die Symphonie des Grauens (1922) directed by F. W. Murnaua and Dracula (1992) by F. F. Coppola. The work contrasts the interpretation of a vampire through the character of Dracula, analyses and maps the evolution of female characters in regard to the rules and expectations of society and examines the role of the two most distinct male characters of the story, A. Van Helsing and R. M. Renfield. The three introductory chapters are dedicated to the authors of the works concerned and to the novel and its adaptations, i.e. it describes the circumstances of their conception and their content. The Bram Stoker chapter also comprises a brief characterization and an overview of the gothic novel, the section handling the Nosferatu movie provides a subchapter on expressionist film and the chapter on the work of F. F. Coppola is supplemented with a short outline of the notion of a vampire in pop culture of the 20th century. Adaptation to kindergarten and appropriate activities for four-year-olds and younger children

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the issue of child adaptation into the kindergarten environment, particularly children four years old and younger. Special attention is given to games and activities that strengthen the relationship of the child with the teacher or the other kids and strengthen the security of the child in his new environment. In the theoretical part, the student will focus on the preschool-aged child's socialization and the aspects related to his transition from a family environment into the wider environment of a kindergarten school. The main objective of the study, which is part of the thesis, is to find out about the adaptation process with three to four-year-old children entering kindergarten and what factors influence this process. The practical part of the thesis presents three case studies of children between the ages of three and four, who start going to the kindergarten for their first time, focusing on adaptation in the kindergarten. The survey was conducted by a combination of interviews with parents, the child, the principal of the kindergarten school and by observing the child directly in the kindergarten.

Comparison of Various Film Adaptations of William Shakespeare's Hamlet

The aim of this thesis is to compare various film adaptations of William Shakespeare's Hamlet and to comment on the different style of their adaptation of the original play. A brief description of this Shakespeare masterpiece and of related films and their style followed by a depiction of particular characters and how the movies interpret them will lead to the comparison of the movies within individual motifs. Four film adaptations will be compared: the black-and-white version by Laurence Olivier (1948), Franco Zeffirelli's Hamlet starring Mel Gibson (1990), the four-hour Hamlet directed by Kenneth Branagh (1996) and modern version directed by Michael Almereyda (2000).

Experience of a vocational beginning as a psychologist in education

Submitted bachelor thesis follows the professional beginning experiences of psychologist in education. The aim of the study is to find and describe essentials influencing an entry of the beginning psychologist into education. A label "psychologist in education" includes school psychologists, psychologists working in an educational psychological consultancy or a special education center, according to this thesis. The theoretical part of our study is divided into five parts. We outline a developmental period of young adulthood according to Erikson, general and professional adaptation, coping, professional support forms (supervision, intervision, mentoring) and role of a psychologist in chosen types of institutions. Qualitative methodology is used in an empirical part. Semi-structured interviews were undertaken with 11 respondents from among beginning psychologists working in assigned types of educational consultancies. The interviews were analyzed by IPA methodology. The results are described in detail and afterwards discussed with available literature. In the conclusion, key points are summarized, which may ease the entry of beginning psychologist in education to employment. Exile as a creative process. Chapters from romanian exile literature in France.

Exile has always played a significant role in the history of the Romanian nation. On that account the Romanian literature written in exile after 1945 presents an important part of the history of Romanian literature as a whole. Due to its linguistic and cultural affinity France became one of the main host countries for Romanian exile writers. The introductive chapter is dedicated to description, classification and history of this phenomenon in Romanian context; furthermore, it deals with the position and reception of exile literature in Romania. According to their departure date in exile two generations of authors are presented: Mircea Eliade, Virgil Ierunca, Monica Lovinescu who left Romania in 1940s and Paul Goma, Bujor Nedelcovici, Dumitru Ţepeneag who decided to leave in France in 1970s and 1980s. The chosen works help us to get to know to the writers' creation and lives during the process of integration and, simultaneously, we get familiar with the communist Romania that became the main topics of the exile writers who are chosen as representatives of their exile generation. Through them the basic survey of this phenomenon in Romanian literature was drawn up.
