The changes of the castle in Pacov

This thesis deals with an object, which used to serve as a Gothic castle, later the Renaissance and Baroque castle, afterwards it was converted into a Carmelite monastery, which became a castle again in the early 19th century. The first part is devoted to constructional changes in the course of time and it includes some names and facts about the families, who owned the castle - the Malovecs of Pacov, the Rombháps of Suchá, the Španovs of Lisov, the Černíns of Chudenice etc. The following chapter deals with the owner Zikmund Myslík of Hyršov and his two wives who lived in a significant period of Baroque. The third chapter mentions the Discalced Carmelite order and their activities in Bohemia. The second major part brings profiles of two architects of the monastery complex, Martin Wittwer and Kilian Ignác Dientzenhofer, including their other work. The third part contains the plan documentation of Pacov complex along with other plans, which are described in the text and compared with the final realization, and finally Wittwer´s plans are compared with a similar Carmelite monastery in Györ, Hungary.
