Svozil, Adam ; OTČENÁŠEK, Štěpán (advisor) ; ŠIKTANCOVÁ, Jaroslava (referee)
This bachelor thesis is based on analysis and comparison of two contemporary productions of plays written by Tennessee Williams. It describes two more general tendencies in the interpretation of dramatic texts that manifest themselves in these stagings. The selected productions are: A Streetcar Named Desire in Činoherní klub (Prague Drama Club) and Vieux Carré by the New York-based Wooster Group. The second part of this thesis is a reflection on the practical work - preparation of the bachelor production called Tennessee Blues. It describes the preparation of the dramatic text, scenographic conception and it also explains the nature of the chosen acting styles and gives overall insight into the production.
