The aim of the thesis is to introduce three variations of Italian books of travels - Italian sheets, Italian sketchbook and Italian holidays. After an introduction and short portraits of authors follows the major part of the thesis whose chapters aim at analysis of individual works from the point of view of content, genre, composition and expression and their comparison. On the basis of this the thesis tries to clarify the relation of the individual authors to Italian culture and society.
