The target group is represented by wheelchair disabled persons - paraplegics and tetraplegics, it means people that were either confined to a wheelchair because of a congenital defect in their very young age, or later in the course of their life because of a disease or injury of spine. The most frequent cause, why people become wheelchair disabled, is injury. There are circa two hundred people paralysed after an injury of spine in the Czech Republic every year that become wheelchair disabled. This is a very serious fact and, therefore, a special consideration has been given to the injuries. This work consists two parts {--} a theoretical and a research one. In the second part, an independent research study was conducted, based on a detailed analysis of information collected by means of questioners and interviews. In total, data from 69 wheelchair disabled persons all over the Czech Republic were analyzed. The structure of respondents was considered according to their actual age, gender, age and reason of the wheelchair disability, education, marital status, believe, employment, hobbies, satisfaction or dissatisfaction with the quality of their life etc. The method of quantitative and qualitative analysis has been used.
