Stateless Naitons in Europe - case of Crimean Tatars

The main concern of this thesis is a question regarding problematic recognition of national demands of Crimean Tatar people referring to principle of national self-determination. After receiving permission to return back to Crimea, Crimean Tatars have actively fought for promoting of their national demands within Crimean territory. From the start of repatriation until now several state units have governed the Crimean peninsula. However, all of these state units had different approach towards the self-determination of Crimean Tatar people. For better understanding of whole problematic, thesis in the beginning concentrates on the concept of national self-determination and its legal basis. After introducing of this concept, thesis concentrates on specific position of Crimean Tatars within Ukrainian SSR, Ukrainian Republic and Russian Federation as well as attitudes of these state towards the six national demands of Crimean Tatar people.
