Selected Reforms in the Area of Economy in the Carpathian Ruthenia at the Time of the First Republic

The territory which was later known as Carpathian Ruthenia and which was one of the most underdeveloped areas in the whole Europe was added to the newly-emerged Czechoslovakia in 1919. This work aims to map selected major changes and interventions of Czechoslovakia in the economic area focused on the changes in transportation and tourism. The initial situation at the time of the annexation to Czechoslovakia will be described in the beginning, followed by the description, analysis and evaluation of changes which took place in the era of the First Republic in the previously mentioned areas.
