"he was very happy to hold Frieda in his hands, far too fearfully happy". Reflexes of a writer's personal fear of commitment in Franz Kafka's novel fragments
Flanderová, Tereza ; Blahak, Boris (advisor) ; Weinberg, Manfred (referee)
This thesis examines Franz Kafka's autobiographic reflections in his three novel fragments, with more attention being paid to those reflections which are connected to two of the three most important women in Kafka's life. In the first part we summarize autobiographic background in the form in which it is presented in Kafka's correspondence and diaries. This background together with the specific social circumstances of Kafka's life are used in the following analysis of the three works. We find that the autobiographic aspect is present in all of the three works and apart from that there is clearly a rising tendency in the volume of the autobiographic content in the works observable with passing time.
