Research-oriented approach to technical materials in teaching at primary schools

This bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of a research-oriented approach to technical materials in elementary school teaching. The work is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical, while the theoretical part deals with the characteristics of the concepts of research-oriented teaching, inquiry-based education with a focus on technical materials, the characteristics of technical education according to the Framework Education Program and the characteristics of technical materials (metal, wood, plastic). The practical part of the thesis presents four preparatory studies of teaching topics for the inclusion of inquiry-based education about technical materials in a regular primary school, including lessons learned and the formulation of recommendations for teaching.

The bachelor thesis deals with the design of a fixture for testing material in compres-sion on a universal testing machine. The thesis firstly introduces engineering materials and their key properties, which is closely related to the testing of mechanical proper-ties. Another theoretical part introduces the SHIMADZU AG-50kMX-plus universal testing machine for which the fixture is designed. The modelling of the jig and the creation of drawing documentation was designed in Inventor Professional 2019, which is presented in detail in the theoretical part. After designing, the jig was fabri-cated so that its experimental use could take place. Plastic test samples were tested and printed on the school's Průša MK3S+ 3D printer. The aim of testing them was primarily to determine the functionality of the product.

The bachelor thesis deals with the creation of a computer model simulating the ten-sile stress of the material. In the introductory part of this thesis it is explained in detail what are tech-nical materials, what are their physical, mechanical and techno-logical properties. In the next part, the tests of materials are described and what they are, how they are performed and what they are used for. The penultimate part of the thesis focuses on the Solidworks program. It explains step by step the creati-on of the test bodies, and the subsequent simulation of the tensile stress of the ma-terial. The last part of this thesis describes the experimental verification of the ten-sion test. All data, graphs and their evaluation are presented.

This thesis focuses on practical use of metallography in machine engineering. First part devotes to the technical material characteristics, their chemical composition and its application in machine engineering. This chapter also includes the issue of internal defects and practical demonstrations of internal microstructure. The following section describes the metallographic samples preparation. Phases are sorted chronologically according to their nature and technological process. Significant part of this chapter focuses on the final procedures of metallographic samples treatment, namely the polishing and etching. Major impact on phase structures image quality is the proper chemical composition of the etchant. Final part of the thesis describes the principle and nature of the light and electron microscopy. Based on the approach of image analysis the macroscopic but also lattice defects can be determined considering the selected magnification.

The diploma thesis is focused on degradation processes in machines tillage. The main intention of this thesis is monitoring and comparing abrasive wear of current technical materials. Wear is evaluated by using weight decrease at operational and laboratory test. In the theoretical part is processed basic division machinery for tillage, description of the particular degradation processes focused on abrasive wear of agricultural machinery. The practical part is focused on describing particular technical materials. It describes the production of test specimens and their heat treatment. Followed by operational and laboratory tests. The obtained results can recommend suitable material that can withstand the best abrasive wear and ensure functional as optimally sharp cutting edge.
Use of technical materials at primary school for the subject of Practical activities

This theses is focus on the use of interesting and suitable technicial materials for primary school. The thesis consits of two parts introducing some of the educational programs for primary school, which are the most exploited in the current educational system. Furthermore theteoretical part drala with differences in subject of Practical activities at primary school. The practical part presents several technical materials selected for 1st-5th class of primary school in the subject of Practical activities. In another component of the practical part the autor suggests topics possible to use in other subjects as well.
