Le, Viet Cuong
This diploma thesis deals with the circular economy and its effect on sustainable economic growth. The work aimed to evaluate the sustainability of contemporary economic development in comparison with models of circular economy. The evaluation was carried out based on a constructed modified Genuine Progress Indicator for the Czech Republic (GPI 2.0), which was then compared with the development of circular economy indicators published by Eurostat. A comparison of the development on the graphs and the theoretical basis showed that the circular economy has a positive effect on sustainable economic growth. Research weaknesses and suggestions for improvement to increase the plausibility of the results are described in conclusion. The conclusion also describes the possibilities of application in practice, mainly for economic policy holders, so that they can ensure sustainable economic growth, due to the gradual advent of Industry 4.0.
