Forms of active cooperation with a senior family in inretiment houses.
KOUBKOVÁ, Michaela
My Bachelor thesis addresses the topic of cooperation between retirement homes and families of elderly people, since the demographic aging represents a world-wide issue associated with the increased aging of population. The thesis aims to determine which forms of cooperation with families of elderly people are used by selected retirement homes in the South-Bohemian Region, and to specify the forms of cooperation in terms of efficiency, perspectives and current options implemented by retirement homes. The sectional goals of this thesis are to determine whether the retirement homes consider the cooperation with the families of elderly people as important for the purposes of providing comprehensive care and whether the elderly people are satisfied with the manner in which the institution cooperates with their family. The quantitative manner of research was used for the purposes of implementing the survey, while being performed via questionnaire surveys in selected retirement homes in the South-Bohemian Region. Thereupon, the secondary analysis of data was compiled in the Microsoft Office Excel 2007. The outcomes of the thesis may be used by retirement homes for the purposes of improving the quality of their services. Moreover, the retirement homes may also clarify whether the elderly people are satisfied with the particular cooperation between the family and the institution. The questionnaire surveys uncovered that the retirement homes consider the cooperation with the families of elderly people to be important for the purposes of providing their clients with comprehensive care and that the elderly people are usually satisfied with the cooperation between their families and the retirement home. As for the form of cooperation, the retirement homes mainly use the option of involving the family in the care being taken of the elderly person.
Services for families with children in difficult social situation in the South Bohemia Region
MAXOVÁ, Magdalena
This work contains a theory part concerning the issues of social services for families with children in unfavourable social situation in the South-Bohemian region. The second part includes research. A family is still considered to be the most important social unit even in the present post modern society. The family unit creates a foundation of human society and performs its main functions, e.g. reproduction or transfer of cultural patterns. The number of families that do not fulfill their basic functions has been growing recently. These families become problematic. They have to solve unfavourable life situations, they have financial, housing or social problems. The family members are often not able to solve those problems by themselves and they need to be helped and supported. Social services need to be established and function in the long term in order to help families in need. Social services for families with children help to improve and balance the family status in society, they stabilize the social situatin of families with children endangered by social exclusion and they can even organize free time activities of children. As per the Social services Act the service providers are obliged to observe many duties not only with respect to their users and their employees but also to the public and state administration. Some problematic situations may occur in the case of privat non-profit making organisations - both while implementing the social service itself or in other activities. One of the aims of this work is to screen the social services provided to families with children in need in the South-Bohemian region. It also aims to detect the main problems providers may encounter while implementing social services in the South-Bohemian region and the ways they solve the problem situations. Two main research issues have been set to meet the aims of the study and to get the necessary information: What are the most often problematic situations that the providers of social services have to face? How do they solve the problems? Research methods used: qualitative research strategy, document analysis, secondary and data analysis from the Czech ministry of work and social affairs, analysis of medium-term and developing plans of social services. Another method used was questioning in the form of a semi-structured interview. Five social workers (SASRD South Bohemia) in leading positions agreed to make an interview. The outcomes of the research are classified into several categories. These categories include specifics of the institution or organization, the issues of cooperation with other entities, the isssues of financing and legal framework, the quality standards, workforce management and difficult situations when working with clients. The cooperation with other entities (for example OSPOD, UP), financing the services and the workforce managent were all indentified as the most difficult issues. The research shows that the biggest issues concerning working with clients is to decide about the right time to report the family to OSPOD (the state office of social and legal child protection) as well as dealing with Roma families in general. Other significant problems are caused by language barriers when planning individually with clients (the client does not understand the language or does not know what kind of service to ask for). Problems also occur when clients are uncooperative or do not keep due appointments. The parties interviewed are mostly negative in their future expectations at their services, though they believe that the services are and will be very beneficial for the society. This work presents complete information about the provision of proactive social services for families with children in unfavourable social situation. It points out the necessity of these services and it shows the problem-causing issues.
The European Union Structural Funds and their use in the South-Bohemian Region
HOŘEJŠÍ, Jolana
The bachelor thesis deals with the European Union Structural Funds and their use in the South-Bohemian Region. The first part attends to the regional development strategy of the European Union and to the drawing financial assistance from its funds during the pre-structural period of the Czech Republic and after its entry into the Union. The second part analyses the drawing of the structural aid in the South-Bohemian Region during the 2004-2006 programming period. Based on the acquired figures the analysis is elaborated in the form of tables and graphs.
Occurance problematic behaviour in relation to the area of their home town.
ŠIKOVÁ, Markéta
The topic of my thesis was the ``Occurrence of Selected Danger Behavior in Relation to a Residential Area{\crqq}. I carried out my research at elementary schools in the South-Bohemian Region from December 2007 to March 2008. Currently, one of the severest issues of our society is a danger behavior, which overwhelmingly affects the young generation. It is a type of behavior, the consequence of which is a demonstrable growth of health, social, educational and other risks for both an individual and the society. The objective of my work was to monitor the occurrence of selected danger behavior by children at elementary schools in the South-Bohemian Region in relation to a residential area. On the basis of that objective, I determined three hypotheses. The first hypothesis proved to be true, since the research results show danger behavior within addictive substances more visible in towns with up to 10 thousand inhabitants unlike towns over 10 thousand. The second hypothesis also held true, because the research results evaluate the largest source for danger behavior to be coevals, regardless of a relation to the size of the town. Finally, the third hypothesis was correct, too, as bullying was researched to be present in towns with over 10 thousand inhabitants unlike towns up to 10 thousand. Today{\crq}s world may be compared to a very hectic and busy time accompanied by a number of issues markedly reflecting in the status of children and the youth. Children are adversely affected by the fact that their families do not pay enough attention to them, which is negatively projected in their lives. In my point of view, a family should draw more attention to such problems and strive to cooperate with other institutions, especially schools, to a high extent. Schools should try to use all possible and available solution variants such as preventative programs, sessions, lectures, and involve the given topic in their lessons. The thesis may be used as a concept for principals and pedagogues to a better awareness of the actual issues and of the current condition at elementary schools in the South-Bohemian Region. It may also be applied as a concept to increase the efficiency of the primary prevention at certain schools, for educational needs and possibly for future researches.
