Analysis of staff development and education in selected institution
POPELKOVÁ, Kateřina
Education and development of workers is an important activity in which workers acquire the necessary competence, professional skills and improve their job performance. It depends on each institution what type of education and development of their employees they choose. It is important to address all the phases of educational process. This process is important for effective functioning of all institutions. The objective of this thesis is to determine how employee education and development is carried out in selected institutions providing social services. Three institutions from Pilsen were selected. To meet the objective of this thesis, I chose a qualitative research, the method of interviewing, and the technique of interview using instructions. To obtain information about the selected institutions, I used the method of secondary data analysis. The research group consisted of employees of these institutions engaged in educating and developing their staff. The interviews were focused on information about the organization, individual phases of educational process, supervision and financial backing of education. The research set for the secondary data analysis consisted of annual reports from the three selected institutions. Each institution was examined separately, and the comparison of the obtained results was carried out subsequently. The research results showed that in the selected organizations the process of staff education is under way; however, each organization has their education set differently. An integral part of education is also the development of staff, in which supervision is primarily involved in the selected institutions. Employees of the organizations are involved in the educational process in all institutions surveyed. It was also found that there are some obstacles and gaps in the educational process. The obstacles in further education include primarily the lack of finance; the gaps include non- observance of the educational process stages. The final part presents some suggestions for improving the educational process in selected institutions.
