Merklová, Kateřina ; Rejtarová, Anna (advisor) ; Šebková, Natálie (referee)
Title: Evaluation of Cerebellar Ataxia from the Perspective of an Occupational Therapist Abstract: The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of occupational therapy in patients with cerebellar ataxia, especially with the possibilities of examination and evaluation of ataxia using assessment tools. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the types of ataxia. Further focuses only on cerebellar ataxia. The paper defines the individual terms characterizing the symptoms of cerebellar lesions. It also describes how these individual symptoms are examined. Further details on the tools found to assess cerebellar ataxia are included. One chapter also focuses on the role of occupational therapy in patients with cerebellar ataxia. It describes the possibilities of occupational therapy intervention in these patients and presents some therapeutic approaches. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to create a translation of the "Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA)" tool from English into Czech using the so-called "back translation" method and to evaluate its applicability in practice. The practical part describes the creation of the translation and the subsequent evaluation process. The translation was created with the help of two impartial translators on a native English speaker level and was...
Regulation of virulence factors of Staphylococcus aureus
Šaňková, Michaela ; Lichá, Irena (advisor) ; Černý, Ondřej (referee)
Staphylococcus aureus is a gram-positive pathogenic bacterium that regulates virulence factors production in response to changing environmental conditions. S. aureus cells evolved a complex regulatory network, including a number of regulatory proteins, transcriptional factors and two- component systems. One of the most important S. aureus regulatory systems is the Agr system (Accessory gene regulator) that perceives its own population density by sensing a "quorum-sensing" signal in a form of autoinducing peptid (AIP). Agr system encodes a global regulatory RNAIII that regulates the expression of target virulence factors, which includes surface proteins as well as extracellular toxins and enzymes. The family of global protein regulators SarA and transcriptional sigma factor B also play a significant role in the regulation of S. aureus virulence. The production of virulence factors is also regulated in response to specific signals from extracellular environment by two- component-systems, which includes the regulator of exoprotein production SaeRS, the regulator of autolysis ArlRS and the regulator of respiratory response SrrAB. Key words: Staphylococcus aureus, virulence factors, Agr, quorum-sensing, RNAIII, SarA, SigB
Ethical aspects in the Book of Tobit
CHMELOVÁ, Miroslava
The thesis is focused on the analysis of selected ethical aspects in the book of Tobit. In the first part of the thesis explains the concept of ethics. In its second part individual ethical aspects of the book are explained. The third part tries to answer, what selected church documents and theological texts focused on ethics say about particular aspects analysed in the second part. At the end, particular events of the book of Tobit as ethical example for our lives and impact of Old Testament texts on present ethics are propounded to consider.
