Roman military equipment in provicial context

This thesis deals with roman military equipment with respect to various finding circumstances of civilian character. Based on the context of the find, this thesis also focus on the purpose, for which the subject was used (self-defense, hunting). There is also evaluated importance of fabricae in civilian sites, their beginnings, operation and reason of their termination. In addition, this work is complemented by a system of military workshops, for better understanding of production of military equipment in provincial areas. Goal of this thesis is assessment of roman military equipment, from civil contexts, especially from the Rhineland.
Armour and helmets of Roman cavalry

(in English): In this work, I briefly described history of the Roman army and the development of armor and helmets in the principate period. I also focused on creating the typology of this kind of military equipment. I also described iconographic scenes that appear on these military equipment and I described the sources that relate to this topic.

Findings of roman origin in Central Bohemia

This work is focused on roman imports in Central Bohemia from 1st to 4th century A.D. My aim is to pay attention on findings of roman - provincial origin, which are published in a literature, the second aim is to sort these objects on a specific types and determine their inclusion on a timeline of archaeological absolute or relative chronology. This knowledge is very important to say what their importance was and which role they played in our history in Central Bohemia. It is clear that Central Bohemia had different position in some phases of a roman period. The study of imports also produce a knowledge about the importance of imported subjects from roman provinces for our society in roman period and about influences, that had many impacts on this society and her nature.
