Studium produkce jetů v jádro-jaderných srážkách na urychlovači RHIC
Barnovská, Zuzana ; Bielčíková, Jana (advisor) ; Tomášik, Boris (referee)
Title: Study of jet production in nucleus-nucleus collisions at RHIC Author: Mgr. Zuzana Barnovská Department: Institute of Particle and Nuclear Physics Supervisor: RNDr. Jana Bielčíková, Ph.D., Nuclear Physics Institute of the ASCR Abstract: The goal of this thesis is to study strange particles (Λ, ¯Λ a K0 S) in jets at the energy of √ sNN = 200 GeV in d+Au and Au+Au collisions measured by the STAR experiment at RHIC in 2007 and 2008. After the application of geometrical and topological limits, jets were reconstructed with the kT and anti- kT jet algorithms and special selection criteria for strange particles were applied. Ratios of the production of strange baryons and mesons in jets were calculated and compared to previous results of inclusive V0 particle production measured by the STAR experiment. Study of centrality dependence of these ratios was performed and compared to values in d+Au collisions. Keywords: jets, d+Au collisions, Au+Au collisions, STAR, RHIC 1
Multibosonové jevy na RHIC

Au-Au collisions at RHIC energies exhibit features suggesting that the system has undergone evolution through a stage of partonic matter. The hot and dense system created in the collision builds up substantial collectivity leading to rapid transverse expansion. In particular recent measurements show that Ξ and Ω baryons develop substantial elliptic flow. Properties of the induced flow strongly depend on whether the collectivity is achieved on partonic or hadronic level. Multi-strange baryons may be, due to their presumably small hadronic cross- sections, mainly sensitive to the early (possibly partonic) stage. The main objective of this thesis is to study femtoscopic π−Ξ correlations in Au+Au collisions at √ sNN =200 GeV and √ sNN =62 GeV recorded by the STAR experiment at RHIC. Measurements of momentum correlations of particles at small relative velocities are used to extract information about space-time extension of the particle-emitting source at the time of kinetic freeze-out. Non-identical particle measurements are sensitive not only to the size of the system, but also to an emission asymmetry between different particle species. Since this asymmetry may arise from the collective expansion and/or early decoupling of Ξ these measurements of π−Ξ correlations provide important test of the dynamics of...

Scaling features in high energy hadron and nucleus collisions
Zborovský, Imrich ; Tokarev, M. V.
Results of analysis of experimental data on inclusive cross sections of jets, direct photons, and high-pT hadrons produced in pp= ¯ pp and AA collisions are presented in the framework of zscaling. The data were obtained at ISR, S¯ppS, RHIC, and Tevatron. New properties of zpresentation of the inclusive spectra are discussed. A physical interpretation of the variable z and the scaling function y(z) is given. A microscopic scenario of hadron and nucleus collisions at a constituent level in terms of momentum fractions is developed. The z-scaling re ects the structure of the colliding objects, interaction of their constituents, and particle formation and manifests the general properties of self-similarity, locality, and fractality. The obtained results could be used for searching for new physics phenomena in high energy hadron and nucleus collisions in soft and hard regions at RHIC, Tevatron, and LHC.
