This B.A. thesis is describing the activitiesof Jewish societies-organizationsin Prague in the period from the establishment of Czechoslovakia in 1918, toSeptember 1938 whenthe Munich Agreementwas concludedand the subsequent dissolution of theso-calledfirst Czechoslovak Republic in October 1938. The significant part of the thesis is the description of division of Jewish societies in the capital cityPrague.The division could be based ether on language or ideology.Inthe lastpart this thesisisdealingwith a number ofsocieties, the legislation and ambiancethat affected the Jewish societiesduring the 1920s and 1930s.
