This work focuses on an important but often neglected figure in Czech culture and literature, František Bernard Vaněk acting in Pelhřimov and its vicinity in the first half of the twentieth century. Documentation of the work is drawn mainly from Vaněk´s extant correspondence stored in the State District Archives and Museum Pelhřimov, Pelhřimov Highlands. Information obtained from correspondence is supplemented by secondary literature, the author of which is predominantly F. B. Vaněk. The reader is first introduced to the life of František Bernard Vaněk and his entire writings. A separate chapter is devoted to the Pulpit Magazine. The following section dealing with the novel on a beautiful secluded, which is closely related to the important place Moravian Highlands Hill Křemešník. The fifth chapter explains the work Vaněk relationship with leading personalities of Czech literature. Another section focuses on the benefits Vaněk Pelhřimov achievements in the last chapter is then described Vaněk interest in sport. The conclusion summarizes the findings of both the personality F. B. Vaněk and the importance of his work and contribution he has done for the city Pelhřimov.
