Optical connections and their influence on transmission
Jaroš, Pavel ; Šporik, Jan (referee) ; Tejkal, Vladimír (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor‘s thesis is to evaluate the current options of connecting optical fibres and their application in specific situations. Firstly, I will deal with fiber optic system and its components in detail. Then, this topic will be futher developed by discussing fibre connection problems, fusion splicing for making permanent fiber join, mechanical splice and, most of all, optical connectors. In following chapters I introduce mathematical dependence of attenuation on the relative possition of the ends of fibers. Another aim of the work was to create an application in a suitable programming enviroment, which will be used for design of optical path.
Transmission system for polymer optical fiber
Kubík, Martin ; Tejkal, Vladimír (referee) ; Šporik, Jan (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis deals with the transmission of signals via plastic optical fibers. First part contains basic principle and parameters transmission of light beam via fiber. The most common types of plastic optical fibers are analyzed, theirs characteristic parameters and trends in the development of this type of transmission medium are listed. In the second part is designed and implemented the proper integration of the optical transmitter and receiver to transmit signals via plastic optical fiber. The advantage of the implemented circuit is its modularity, so it is possible to further easily extend the system. Laboratory task is prepared for use system in the laboratory.
Analysis of information leakage from optical transmission system
Šimon, Václav ; Horváth, Tomáš (referee) ; Münster, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the structure of an optical transmission system. It focuses mainly on the transmission part of the system. It describes its parts and the functioning of the components used. It also deals with the risks of information leakage at various levels of the system (backbone networks, distribution and access networks, optical fiber). The practical part examines the issue of 3 possible risks. Firstly is measured the effect of unauthorized connection of a splitter to the optical path, then the eavesdropping in dense wavelength division multiplexing networks and the last measurement deals with the eavesdropping of the upstream signal in GPON access networks.
