Varieties of Slovak Nationalism in Czechoslovakia between 1990-1993

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to focus on the rise of Slovak nationalism after the1989. Paper analyse discourses of Slovak politicians of various political background from that time and introduces several concepts of the Slovak nationalism which affected development of Czech and Slovak Federative Republic 1990 - 1992. From communist variant of Slovak nationalism, nationalism that tried to rehabilitate Slovak state from the WWII era, to less radical concepts of Slovak nationalism. Paper also focuses on the process of reformulation and reification of different images of the nation in the Slovak society. At the end paper analyses perception of these concepts in the Czech part of the republic and tries to answer the question why pro-Czechoslovak images of the Slovak nation weren't convincing enough to mobilise substantial part of Slovak society that would fight for concept of Czech and Slovak federation.
