Increasing of density of the goldeneye population (\kur{Bucephala clangula}) by using artificial nest boxes
SKLÁŘOVÁ, Kateřina
In the autumn 2013 were set up 50 nest boxes for increasing of density of the Common Goldeneye population (Bucephala clangula) in Třeboň region. The main objectives of this study were to check the nest boxes after breeding season and analyse the results. These nest boxes were checked in the July 2014 and 2015. In the spring 2015 were set up 2 mobile scouting cameras to the selected nest boxes. There was also monitor the occurrence of the Common Goldeney on the Naděje fishpond system and Prátr fishpond system by counting. The Naděje fishpond system is created by 16 different sized fishponds and it is situated approximately 8.5 km to the south of the town Veselí nad Lužnicí. The Prátr fishpond system is situated approximately 1 km to the south of the town Třeboň and it is created by 9 fishponds. The monitor was realised in term from 17. 3. 2015 to 27. 7. 2015. The other species of water birds were also counted. In the year 2014 10 nest boxes were occupied and in the year 2015 17 nest boxes were occupied. The nest boxes which were located on the fishpond´s islands were preferred. Both of the mobile scouting cameras recorded European Pine Marten (Martes martes) devastating the nest. The Common Goldeneye was occurred on the both fishpond systems in 2015. In the year 2015 was observed the female of the Common Goldeneye with 8 ducklings on the Prátr fishpond system.
Analysis of selected aspects of the breeding biology of Great Crested Grebe (\kur{Podiceps cristatus})
MARKOVÁ, Kateřina
The aim of the thesis was monitoring abundance and distribution of nests of Great Crested Grebe (Podiceps cristatus) during the season on the Naděje fishpond system. Further observation included factors that could affect nesting success of the Great Crested Grebe. Attention was concentrated on Wild Duck (Anas platyrhynchos) which is bred by man on the fishpond system and might negatively affect nesting success of Great Crested Grebe. Part of this study was the detailed observation of selected pairs during the nesting season by using camera traps. Temperature measurement in the nests was done by temperature data logger. The investigation was realized on the Naděje fishpond system near the village Frahelž. The research took place from the 14th of April to the 28th of October in 2015. In 2015 were found and investigated 37 nests on the Naděje fishpond system. On the fishpond Skutek were monitored 34 nest, on the fishpond Láska 2 nests and on the fishpond Rod only 1 nest. Majority nests (30) were found on a free surface and 7 nests were situated in the bushy vegetation. Parameters of 111 eggs were obtained altogether. On the fishpond Skutek were found 100 eggs, on fishpond Láska 8 eggs and in the only nest on fishpond Rod 3 eggs. Using the camera traps during the observation proved negative effect of wild duck on Great Crested Grebe nesting. The nest was destroyed group of wild duck. The maximum temperature in the nest reached 33,8 °C.

JEŽKOVÁ, Eva
The aim of the thesis was the appraisal of Great Crested Grebe (Podiceps cristatus) nesting biology aspects in relation to environmental conditions. The research took 6 months from the 2nd of April to the 2nd of October in 2013 and was realised in the Naděje fishpond system on the ponds Víra, Láska, Skutek, Dobrá Vůle, Rod and Naděje. This fishpond system is situated in CHKO Třeboňsko nearby villages Frahelž and Klec and it consists of total of 15 ponds which are used for intensive fish farming, partly for breeding of Wild Ducks for hunting purposes. The counting of birds, active searching of nests and measuring parameters of nests and eggs were carried out during the work. The nests were found on ponds Naděje, Skutek and Láska. In 2013 18 nests were measured altogether. On the fishpond Naděje 8 nests were situated, on the fishpond Láska 4 nests and on the fishpond Skutek 6 nests altogether. 13 nests of the total were found on a free water surface and 5 nests were situated in the vegetations of the Great Reedmace (Typha latifolia) at a maximum distance of 1 m from the free water surface. In 2013 64 eggs were measured altogether. On the fishpond Naděje parameters of 33 eggs were obtained, on the fishpond Láska 17 eggs and on the fishpond Skutek 14 eggs were found altogether.
Nesting populations of Common Goldeneye (\kur{Bucephala clangula}) at selected pond systems
SKLÁŘOVÁ, Kateřina
The main objectives of this study were to monitor the occurrence of the Common Goldeneye (\kur{Bucephala clangula}) in nesting season on the chosen fishpond systems with a view to find out their proven nesting. The research was realised on the Naděje fishpond system and Prátr fishpond system in term from 22. 3. 2013 to 16. 8. 2013 by counting and active searching of nests. The Naděje fishpond system is situated approximately 15 km to the north of the town Třeboň beetwen the villages Klec and Frahelž and it is created by 16 different sized fishponds. The Prátr fishpond system is created by 9 fishponds and it´s situated approximately 1 km to the south of the town Třeboň. The other species of water birds were also counted. The Common Goldeneye was occurred on the both fishpond systems in 2013 only in spring and nesting of this species wasn´t proved. The most common species on the Naděje fishpond system was the Great Crested Gelbe (\kur{Podiceps cristatus}) and on the Prátr fishpond system it was The Common Pochard (\kur{Aythya ferina}).
The characteristics of Great Crest Grebe (Podiceps cristatus) population in select pond system
JEŽKOVÁ, Eva
The aim of the thesis was the characterictic of breeding population of the Great Crested Grebe on a chosen fishpond system. The research was realised from the 28th of March to the 14th of October in 2011 on the Naděje fishpond systém, specifically on the ponds Víra, Skutek, Láska, Naděje, Dobrá Vůle and Rod. This fishpond system of 15 ponds is situated to the east of the village Frahelž and it´s a part of CHKO Třeboňsko. The data were obtained by regular counting and active searching of nests and measuring their parameters. In 2011 the Great Crested Grebe (Podiceps cristatus) preferred ponds Víra, Skutek and Láska. There were found 70 nests altogether. On the fishpond Víra were measured 36 nests altogether, on the fishpond Skutek 30 nests and on the fishpond Láska 4 nests. In 2011 57 % of nests were found in the vegetation of lesser reedmace (Typha angustifolia) on the fishponds Víra and Láska and 43% of nests in the vegetations of the great reedmace (Typha latifolia). On a free surface just 2 nests were found. In 2011 235 eggs were found altogether. On the fishpond Víra 112 eggs were found, on the fishpond Skutek 105 eggs and on the fishpond Láska 15 eggs. The parameters of size were measured on 182 eggs altogether.
The nest parameters od Great Crest Grebe (Podiceps cristatus) in Naděje pond system in the Třeboňsko Landscape Protected Area
ALT, Miroslav
The main objectives of this study were to control and analyse the chosen aspects of the nest biology of the species known as the crested grebe (Podiceps cristatus), to set an amount of nesting population and its distribution during the season in the Naděje fishpond system (further NRS), to estimate the adaptibility of this species on the conditions of the intensive cultivated fishponds in the NFS. The Naděje fishpond system is situated in the Třeboň basin, approximately 8,5 km to the south of the town Veselí nad Lužnicí, between the villages Frahelž and Klec. The above sea level is about 410 meters above the sea there. The axis of the whole fishpond system is the River Lužnice. This system is created by 15 close together neighbouring fishponds. These fishponds are used for fish breeding of especially common carp. This study has been made in the observed area in year 2009. In regular intervals there game census of the Great Crested Grebe (Podiceps cristatus) has been done and at the same time on the same fishponds there other species of water birds have also been counted in order to gain the survey of bird population. The measured values have been statistically processed. In 2009, the highest number of adult and juvenile Great Crested Grebes was recorded 8 August for the Skutek Pond (44 adult individuals and 23 juveniles), 6 September for the Láska Pond (25 adults and 40 juveniles) and 2 July for the Víra Pond (15 adults and 10 juveniles). The most numerous aquatic bird species were Anas platyrhynchos, Anas strepera, Fulica atra, Larus ridibundus and Podiceps cristatus. The Great Crested Grebe have been prefered especially the fishponds Láska, Skutek and Víra, in the other watched fishponds they have appeared very small or not at all. In this three fishponds there the straight search of the nests connected with a measurement of egg parameters have been done. There have been found altogether 46 nests with 170 eggs. 23 nests have been situated in the vegetations of the great reedmace (Typha latifolia) and 23 nests in the lesser reedmace (Typha angustifolia).
