Relaxation and Meditation with Music

The thesis introduces an importance of a mental hygiene and its chosen methods - relaxation and meditation with music. The theoretical part is focused on a description of the basic relaxation and meditation techniques and curative effects of music. It deals with a music therapy, its meaning, types, methods and history in terms of the importance of music healing relaxation effects on the mental, physical as well as spiritual health. The practical part includes a usage of these methods in practice with five different age therapeutic groups; it observes and evaluates changes of the psychological and physical conditions after performed therapies. In order to create a receptive program for an individual and group education a questionnaire survey was conducted on an effect of the performed therapy. The survey showed that the relaxation and meditation with music is an effective psychotherapeutic mean to induce a mental balance of a man.
The use of music-therapeutical methods in working with children in younger school age in their free time

This bachelor thesis describes music-therapeutical methods used during the work with pre-school children in their free time. The first chapter is focused on the history of music-therapy. The next chapter describes the concepts of music-therapy based on different criteria. The third chapter analyses the possibilities of application of music-therapy in free-time pedagogy. The following chapter describes the structure of the music-therapy lesson, musical facilities and it discusses three activ methods. Each method is supplemented by practical examples of music-therapeutical activity. The last chapter describes the receptive methods, which are also supplemented by practical activities.
The psychological aspects of music in the development of individual

The Work deals with the therapeutic effects of music on mental and somatic component of the individual from the historical and contemporary perspective. There are three musical levels, the psychological, therapeutic and alternative one, whereas the work is based on the Western concept of music. The point of departure is knowledge of music psychology on human perception of music and the structure of musical composition. I use the knowledge of music therapy in applying the music elements on mental, physical and spiritual human level. The superstructure is made by alternative views on using music in a therapeutic context. Special space is devoted to combination of music and the brain and the influence of music on development of cognitive component of human personality.
Music Therapy in Special Education

The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is concerned with the evolution of the music therapy in the world from the beginning to its contemporary concept and application. It deals with influence, importance and functions of music in human life and tries to explain the usage of the music therapy with childern with mental, physical and combined disability in the Czech republic. The thesis describes the therapeutical function of music and summarizes different types and methods applied in the musictherapeutical practice. The practical part contains the description of the Arpida children{\crq}s center and the characteristics of childern the project was realized with. Finally the methodical description of the project in which different musictherapeutical activities were used in the education of childern with disability as a means of their comprehensive rehabilitation is mentioned.
Possibilities of the Receptive Music Therapy in the Treatment of the Alcohol and Drug Addiction

Bachelor thesis titled ?Possibilities of receptive music therapy in the treatment of alcohol and drug addiction? has a theoretical and empirical nature. My task was to find out whether would be receptive music therapy applied in a psychiatric hospital Cervený Dvur and if it would be helpful in the treatment in this facility. The theoretical part is aimed at linking music therapy with psychotherapy. It describes the problems of alcohol, non-alcohol drugs and their distribution. This section also focuses on the importance of music therapy and its types. The practical part is focused on my own experimental investigations related to application of music therapeutic program for a selected sample of clients. At the same time I did also monitor the response of professional staff to the ongoing experiment with six set of hypotheses that were subsequently identified based on analysis of data I did verify. Survey results confirm the feasibility of the music therapeutic program at the hospital Cervený Dvur.

The subject of the Bachelor thesis is the free time of individuals with mental disabilities. The aim of the work is to find out possibilities and interests of people with light or medium mental disability, who live in the institution ?DOZP Bystřice nad Úhlavou?, propose measures to improve the concrete situation in this institution and find out the satisfaction of clients with offered free time activities. In the theoretical part I interested in problems of mental retardation, free time activities and therapies, which are suitable for people with mental disability and which could be used in free time activities. The empirical part contains the qualitative research of the mentioned institution, where I focused on cultural and social live of inhabitants. Then I mention the real experience of clients in their free time, its representing by the sample of 18 respondents living in ?DOZP Bystřice nad Úhlavou?. The research is focused on free time activities. I point at differences in men and women free time and the satisfaction with offered free time activities and its usage. Finally, my work contains concepts for improving quality of free time activities. Clearly, the free time has a big influence on improving and quality of life for people with mental disabilities.
The Possibilities Application of Therapies in selected Institutions which are determined for health handicapped

This diploma thesis focuses on possible application ways of the selected therapies (canistherapy, hippotherapy and music therapy) in particular institutions for disabled people. The therapies mentioned above have been seen as the methods of a compact rehabilitation process which use a positive influence of animals and music on one´s health. The thesis contains the theoretical part which introduces the summary of development and current terminology on the field of zootherapy, canistherapy, hippotherapy and music therapy. The selected topic has been dissected here in full details. It also introduces the problem regarding physical disabilities in general. The practical part of the thesis is a data survey which have been gained in the form of a qualitative research, being presented in two significant chapters. In the first one, the survey regarding the characteristics of the involved institutions can be found. The second chapter is an analysis and comparison of gained information. The aim of the survey is to introduce and sum up the possible ways of using and application of these special therapies in the selected institutions for physically disabled people within the south Bohemian region. The methods of qualitative research have been used. To reach the goal, data collection in a form of observation, semi-standartized interview and photodocumentation have been applied. The complete conclusion of the gained information can be found in the final part of the thesis. The supplements contain some photos regarding these particular therapies and the structure of semi-standartized interview. The thesis can be used as a source of information for both experts and amateurs.
Musicotherapy from the perspective of learning and behavioral disorders

The goal of my diploma thesis is introduce one of alternative direction {--} music therapy, to outline the sphere of specific learning and behavior disorders, and also to give a guide, how to apply components of music therapy during the work with children with these disorders. The thesis consists of two parts {--} a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part focuses on defining key terms, such as music therapy, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dysortographia, dyscalculia, dyspinxia, dysmusia, dyspraxia. In my work I aim to clarify the question of ADHD and try to point out the relation of particular learning and behavior disorders. The practical part includes twenty activities that were made firstly according to a methodical manual written by M. Beníčková and Z. Vilímek, who use the Czech method of music therapy {--} Music of body, and secondly on the base of casuistry of two boys attending special practical school. Each activitiy should develop particular skills, comprises tools, motivation, its own description and analysis coming out of a practical accomplishment. The method of observing was used for the evaluation.
Designing and examining of an educational program for handicapped persons based on musical therapy.of.\\

In my bachelor thesis I dealt with the issue of handicaped people and with the possibility of applying musicotherapy in their treatment. In the practical research I observed the influence of a musicotherapeutical program on handicaped children of pre-school age in the ARPIDA center in České Budějovice. In my work I used standardized techniques through which I aquired important data for further evaluation. As the initial point of this thesis, two scientific questions concerning the influence of the therapeutical program had been set: Whether the program enriches the children`s life and whether it changes their values. The examined program was mainly concerned with the individuals psychic development and with the improvement of fine and gross motor skills of the children through their playful interaction with music and musical instruments. The effect of the programe was examined by two measurements (preliminary and subsequent) and all the aquired data was evaluated according to the individual research techniques.
Musicalterapy in the Karlovy Vary Region

The topic of this thesis is ``Music therapy in Karlovy Vary Region{\crqq}. As the topic itself says, this work concentrates on music therapy as a valuable form of psychotherapy. A theoretical part of this thesis contains description of the history of music therapy and treatment by means of music. Apart from that, the theoretical part deals with an impact of music on people. It is also focused on positive and negative impact of music and sounds. The author describes various kinds and forms of music therapy. In the introductory part of this work the author concentrates on the area of music therapy and then he concerns with the common use of music therapy, including its division into particular target groups affected by music. The end of theoretical part concerns with methods and techniques in music therapy, where some of which were also used practically, as was finally proved by rersearch. The author oriented his research towards the use of music therapy in the Karlovy Vary Region, as it is claimed in the name of this thesis. The aim of this thesis is to find out whether the addressed instutitions of social services have encountered music therapy, and in what extent is music therapy carried out in the Karlovy Vary Region. In addition to research the author led music therapy meetings with seniors in České Budějovice, and Karlovy Vary. Techniques and experiences from this practice are described in the part of results and they are backed up with photo-documentation.
