Slang of Members of Česká tábornická unie, z.s.

This thesis deals with the specific speech of the members of Česká tábornická unie, z.s. - non-governmental non-profit Czech organization dedicated to working with children and developing camping skills. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on defining the national language and its units and semi-units, especially on defining slang, including possible ways of creating slang words. One chapter is devoted to the organization itself, namely its symbolism, history, structure and current activities. The practical part analyses the materials obtained through a questionnaire survey.

The Specific Language in the Region Boskovice

This bachelor thesis focuses on the analysis of common spoken language in the area of Boskovice. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first, theoretical, part deals with the definition of national language and with basic features of the dialect used in central Morava. The second, metothodological, part describes methods of practical research. In the third part, which can be specified as practical, author analysed recorded and transcribed material of spoken language among people of different ages and made analysis at all language levels. The goal of this bachelor thesis is to qualify the degree of dialect´s haleness across all age-groups in chosen locations of Boskovice.

The speech of the computer games players

The bachelor thesis aims to map the speech on the computer gamers in detail. This community consists of people of various age and social status and their number is constantly growing. This group communicates mainly on the internet mostly by written means with a specific slang. The main goal is to research the lexical units, which are associated with the researched slang (general names, games characteristics, special names appearing only in concrete games). Lexical units will be sorted by various criteria, mostly by the game genre. The theoretical part is based on the available professional literature. The thesis will contain a vocabulary of gathered lexical units with explanation of their meaning.

Specific features of spoken communication of the oldest generation (over 80 years)

This work deals with specifics of spontaneous communication of seniors (persons older 80 years). It is aimed at description of typical phenomenons of particular levels of the spoken text structure. We are studying phonemic, morphological, lexical, syntactic and compositional levels, which are characteristic for older people speech. The theory of the term old age and all the attributes characteristic for this life period are defined in this work. It is followed by a short introduction to spoken text issue. The analysis of the speeches is preceded by close introduction of material base, i. e. description of obtaining and studying of speeches, general characteristic of respondents. In the further chapters, the theoretical and practical parts are combined. Particular phenomenons are documented by examples taken of the recorded speeches. The appendix of this work contains three extracts of the recorded memory narrations of the old people.
