Lorca's "impossible" theater: El público (The Public)
Byronová, Lucie ; Vydrová, Hedvika (advisor) ; Sánchez Fernández, Juan Antonio (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the play by Federico García Lorca, The Public (El público). The author characterised the work, together with several other plays, as the "impossible theatre" because it was too unconventional to be represented on stage. The object of the thesis is to discover and analyse the aspects of The Public which are connected with its impossibility and subsequently to demonstrate its uniqueness and originality. The topics of love and theatre are essential in the play. Criticism of Social Conditions in the Drama of F. G. Lorca, A. Casona, R. Alberti and M. Mihura
Lukešová, Alice ; Sánchez Fernández, Juan Antonio (advisor) ; Mathé, Lukáš (referee)
This thesis is concerning four playwriters: Lorca, Casona, Alberti and Mihura. Although it is not common to discuss them together, selected authors were born, grew up and started to write their plays in the same period, influenced by the very same events. Thus they use their works to reflect the same social issues. Every author expressed his criticism by specific forms: tragedy, absurd comedy, avant-garde or poetic theater. The variety offered in their works enables to illustrate the society from different points of views, which can hence capture it as a whole. Fancy and interpretation differ widely among people, therefore criticism expressed through various forms, is supposed to interest a wide range of persons.
