Improving efficiency of selected company

The thesis deals with ways of increasing efficiency in retail with focus on logistics from theoretical as well as practical perspective. Application of the practical part is demonstrated on the example of Dotcom, online store project of Tesco Stores ČR a.s. First aim of the thesis is to identify areas with the biggest potential in increasing efficiency with respect to financial demands of the eventual investment and to propose a potential solution. Second aim is to verify a hypothesis that the delivery of goods to customers is inefficient given that the planning system is not being linked to the tracking system.
Design of Business Intelligence solution for truck road transportation

This thesis is focused on the design of Business Intelligence solution to the logistics sector. Its main goal is to enable the unnamed central-bohemian company, which deals with truck road transportation, to follow up and evaluate its data better. The theoretical part is focused on the basic principles of Business Intelligence and on the analysis of current market situation. The next section is dedicated to the specifics of this problematic in the logistics field. The practical part deals with the design of Business Intelligence solution to the concrete company. The analysis of company preparedness for Business Intelligence and the specification of requirements on its solution precede the resultant reporting tool. There is the unification of company's data in the form of data warehouse and the design of individual indexes and dimensions, from whose point of view data will be monitored. The main benefit of this thesis is resultant solution in the form of reporting tool, which can company, that is not familiar with the problematic of Business Intelligence, use as its future advantage.

This bachelor thesis is focused on importing wines from Italy. It describes the whole process of import from selecting suppliers, transporting wine from Italy, storage, supplying to potential subscribers and the execution of necessary formalities by Customs Administration. The next section deals with the possibility of outsourcing transportation, storage, deliveries to customers and processing requirements by Customs Administration through the use of logistics company. The main goal of this work is to present the entire process of import and subsequent evaluation and selection of the most suitable option.
Supply Chain of the Pharmaceutical Company Sandoz s.r.o.

The topic of this bachelor thesis is "Supply Chain of the Pharmaceutical Company Sandoz s.r.o.". The main aim is the analysis of logistics processes of the company and suggestions for improvement or streamlining of individual parts of the complex. The work is divided in two parts -- theoretical and practical. In the first part I focus on introducing the topic of logistics and its importance, specifications of the pharmaceutical market and typical features of logistics in this field. In the second part the company Sandoz and the companies cooperating in the supply chain are introduced. Furthermore, I describe the physical transport of goods, interconnection via information systems and financial flows.

This bachelor thesis deals with activities of a company DHL and is narrowly focused on one of three divisions, on DHL Express division, which provides express shipments and other related services. The first chapter is entirely theoretical. It describes the development and importance of logistics and best-known methods and technologies in transportation. In the second chapter the company DHL is directly introduced. In the third chapter DHL Express is described in detail and it is examined whether the services are efficient enough and whether the fundamental objective of current logistics is satisfied, satisfaction of a customer.
Design of B2B market to support product distribution of small and medium size enterprises

The thesis is focused on creation of B2B market place design to support small and medium size enterprises. It is based on research of issues of small and medium size enterprises and system complexity. Study of logistics, logistic distribution and contemporary supply chains in the Czech Republic from the point of view of small and medium size enterprises is another part of the thesis. The design is based on research of semantic web and is created according to MMSP methodology. The design is created to eliminate pressure points of studied areas such as small ability of semantic web to become a communication system used in exchange of enterprises' offers and demands, limited cooperation of small and medium enterprises, prices which do not depend on logistics costs and door to door deliveries which supports the prominent position of large retail companies.
Logistics Processes Optimization in Company Specialized in Hotel Industry

The thesis deals with the application of Lean management in optimizing business processes, namely logistics processes. The author narrows the theoretical view as possible in today's practice to optimize the logistics processes in the real case study of a company. One of the theoretical foundations of modern Japanese approach based on Lean Management is called Toyota Production System. The practical focus of the work lies in analysis of the actual deployment of optimization in company specialized in hotel industry. Finally, thesis evaluates the success of optimization in the organization. The author has proposed some practical pieces of advice and techniques to approach optimization in near future.
Process management in the logistic company and its implementation and evaluation

This thesis is focused on process management. Its aim is to identify the processes of the selected company and present a graphic illustration of these in process maps. The maps are results of process mapping, which is a combination of several techniques - participation in process, one-to-one interviews and observation. Practical part also includes situational analysis. For description of macroenvironment, PEST analysis was used. It defines political, economic, social and technological situation in the Czech Republic. The analysis of the microenvironment deals with trends in the area of e-commerce and parcel transport. In order to analyze the competitive environment, Porter five forces analysis has been made. The analytical part is enriched by SWOT analysis. In conclusion, due to the findings from the analyses, the author formulates proposals for the improvement of selected business processes.

The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part describes basic concepts such as logistics, warehousing, distribution, etc. In the practical part introduces the company and its impact on various markets. The most important part is analysis of the actual logistics chain, finding weaknesses and propose solutions.

The target of the Bachelor thesis called "The importance and functioning of Service (Business) Centres for Logistics Companies", is to bring up reasons that lead Logistics companies to set up such centres and to describe their function. The Theoretical part describes what actually Logistics means and what functions and activities fall under this term. It also deals with Human Resources and some common IT topics. The Practical part then builds on the Theoretical and describes in detail what activities are usually handled in Business centres, which ones are ideal for them, reasons for opening of these centres and setting up of the processes needed for smooth operations. It also rates all advantages and disadvantages of Business centres. A major part in Business centres is played by the Human resources, which means that the Practical part describes what motivates the employees, what the approach should be towards them and what are the problems that HR needs to tackle on daily basis. In the end, the Thesis wants to come to a conclusion, whether or not it is viable for Logistics companies to set up such centres and also gives some practical recommendations.
