Design of material flow using discrete event simulation

The content of this diploma thesis is to create a simulation model of the logistics chain of the production area of an industrial plant in order to design the logic control of material flow. Plant Simulation software from the company Siemens PLM Software is used to create the simulation model. The diploma thesis consists of system analysis of the researched area of the production plant. With the help of the simulation model, simulation experiments and evaluation of the obtained results are made. According to the results, the conclusions are drawn.

Verification of the logistic concept of inventory management

The content of this bachelor thesis is a search analysis of selected logistics concepts of inventory management and the creation of a simulation model of the logistic circuit within the intra-company transport. Part of the research section is an explanation of basic logistic concepts, an evaluation of individual inventory management concepts and a description of how to optimize them. The simulation model is created in Siemens Plant Simulation software. By simulating different variants of model parameter settings, the conditions for controlling the verified logistic circuit were designed.

This work results in the proposal of warehouse area and placement within the production, dispatch and warehouse hall, which includes the proposal of warehouse equipment with pallet and cantilever rack system.

Planning of logistics processes by computer simulation

Contents of this diploma thesis is creating of the simulation model of the logistic chain of the internal transport to evaluation of the impacts of the projected changes of the parameters of the logistic chain. The simulation model is created in Plant Simulation software by association Siemens PLM Software. An analysis of the discussed area is also included in the thesis. With the help of the simulation model it is tested if the modification of the logistic chain elements has positive impact on important characteristics of production of the given area. Conclusion are made from the results of the experiments and a modification of the logistic chain is suggested.

It explains basic and technical logistics concepts and understandable indicates readers to the problem. In the next section analyzes and evaluates the current status of logistics business. At the conclusion summarizes the suggestions for improvement across the entire logistics chain, which should lead to more efficient passage of the contract, and more flexible responses to problems that arise.

In the analysis of current situation in the company is described a current progress of a contract, an analysis of processes in the company and costs. In the last part of the thesis are final proposals which should help to the better progress of a contract, to save time, costs and to increase satisfaction of a customers and also leadership of the company.

The main goal of this thesis is to analyze a specific business process in AKI ELECTRONIC company. The thesis consists of two parts: theoretical part of the thesis aims to define and explain various logistical concepts and terms . Second part describes and analysis the company’s current situation. This part also includes an analysis of a specific business process management. The final part then proposes possible solutions of the problems detected in the analysis, which would lead to business process improvement and more satisfied customers.
