Structure - space - city Urban block complation
Burešová, Karolína ; Kurtis, Gabriel (referee) ; Palaščák, Michal (advisor)
Based on a regulatory plan, I chose a plot of the city corner for my diploma thesis, which is an introduction to Francouzská Street. At present, this plot is used only as a parking lot, but it is located in an interesting busy place in the mouth of the five roads. Based on the new regulatory plan, the plot is located on the dominant site of the city piazzetta with a function full of people and commercial partners. My goal is to create a significant city corner, which will be a local dominant of the nearby area. The filling of the house is commercial, administrative, and residential. The proposal will allow fluctuations in the ratio between these functions due to the variability of market demand. With the statue of a staircase, I want to create a communication space for the residents of the house, where PROMENADE will be created and at the same time will serve as an interesting backdrop for the parterre.
Science & Technology Park in Zlín
Šimoníček, Stanislav ; Svoboda, Jiří (referee) ; Zemánková, Helena (advisor)
Subject of my graduation theses was to define an isolated room of the Práce square, to create a central assembly room, which is isolated from the traffic of the adjacent Tomáš Baťa avenue, to complete dominant buildings of the Bata’s period, to stimulate and to make attractive it for the pedestrians and to design a traffic, street’s and new street’s lay-out, to draw a scientific and technical park and living in the city centre, parking places pro the new designed objects. The architectural - urban project is solving a new function of the square, which originally used as ascending area for then expanding Bata’s plants. After failure of the plants has the square lost his function. The designed solution removes the cars, respects viewed axes, and creates a new raster due to straighten of Březnicka Street, which is parallel to the “green axe”, which separates the old and the new part of Zlín, vertical to Tomáš Baťa avenue. It is bringing new restaurants, coffee-bars, shops, housings and jobs. Scientific and Technical Park concludes the square from the north site. It is designed at the place, where formally a hospital building were - in front of he building 21. It is continuing towards the street and joins the faculty of management and economies with the new university centre. The building height is similar as the surrounding buildings. It is parted in two parts; between them is the viewed axe through the district of SVIT. Block of flats concludes the square form the west. Orientation of the flats is also to the east – west. The flats can serve for the employees, too, for the neighbouring Scientific and Technical Park. Kce is from skeleton and is brick-faces KLINKER, which corresponds to the surrounding building-up area. It contains smaller flats to 100 m2, category 2+eating nook, and 1+eating nook.

Stoklásek, Rostislav ; Kurtis, Gabriel (referee) ; Makovský, Zdeněk (advisor)
Residential complex at the hillside of Palacký vrch in Brno-Komín. A location just in between a 70's apartment houses and a large forest is nowadays a gardening colony, in the proposal is the plot rasterized with cubical houses, which are creating a new piece to a whole mosaic of the hillside's development. The complex is aligned with the scale and topography of the surroundings, but it doesn't directly connect to the development around it. Thanks to its own strong structure new spaces are created, in a modest scale, providing enough privacy and at the same time spaces where people can meet. A structure, that is independent from the changes that the surrounding is surely going to undergo.

Residential complex under Palacky hill was designed with regard to the location of the parcel and the context of surrounding buildings and the overall appearance of the place. The plot is built up most of its terraced houses in two layout versions that have the same material and mass characteristics and thus make the whole integrity. On the east side of the plot are located three detached houses, by their nature correspond to ordinary houses. In an attempt not to separate a life outside the house and in it fairly large front yards were designed where selected rooms are oriented.
Baugruppe Now
Šťastná, Anna ; Císler, Ondřej (referee) ; Hora, Jan (advisor)
Baugruppe, as an alternative option for housing, is made up of a group of people who are looking for a way to create their own housing according to their ideas. They become developers themselves, looking for interesting solutions for their housing that the regular real estate market does not offer. Together, they find land that is often less attractive to ordinary developers and compromise to decide on all the design steps. For the proposed Baugruppe, the site is situated in the town Znojmo, Czech republic. The plots were chosen in such a way that they did not have any particular qualities - on the contrary, that they were rather places that were not at first sight very attractive. The theme of the work is to portray the Baugruppe way of living as community housing. The proposal seeks to figure out a way to make community coexistence as natural as possible for all Baugruppe participants. Whether just meeting the neighbors on the way to their apartments, meeting on the terrace with a friend from the opposite apartment or organizing an event in the common interior/exterior spaces for all Baugruppe participants. All these spaces create a slightly different atmosphere and become a combination of different small worlds that intertwine with each other. At the same time, the aim of the work is to create a house that opens up to its surroundings while allowing all the events of the house to take place undisturbed inside.

URBAN RENEWAL - URBAN HOUSING STRATEGY IN THE CITY CENTER OF BRNO
Lukačovič, Adam ; Bradáčová, Šárka (referee) ; Havliš, Karel (advisor)
Redundancy became very common these days. As a consequence unknown brownfields are appearing still faster. Apartment houses owned by municipality became one of these places, as well. There are hundreds of apartments empty nowadays in the city centre of Brno. All of these unused spaces are misunderstood opportunity. Great potential can be used for necessary urban regeneration and re-occupation of the city centre. The only obstacle seems to be missing strategy and general conception. It’s essential to focus on advantages while every house is unique and offers uncountable options of use. Forgotten places can be great opportunity with a new strategy. Activation of houses would bring a new community and would help to reuse inner spaces within urban structure on the background of real sustainable development and compact city principles.
