Leopold I. in the light of Czech funeral sermons from 1705

The presented bachelor thesis deals with the view of Emperor Leopold I. in the funeral sermons composed in his honour in 1705. The main aim is to present the associations connected with the emperor's personality on the basis of the funeral orations written in Czech. In addition to introducing specific figures and objects to which the emperor was compared, the present work also presents the life story of the late monarch. The thesis also introduces the concept of the perception of death in the early modern period.
The Siege of Vienna and Everydayness in Vienna 1683 by reports of Jiří Vojtěch Felix Novodvorský

This bachelor´s essay appplies to a custodian of Dietrichstein palace in Vienna in 1683. It focuses on the second Ottoman´s siege of Vienna in summer in 1683. It extracts reports sent by the custodian George Vojciech Felix Novodvorský to duke Ferdinand Joseph from Dietrichstein during the whole year 1683. The target of the essay is o analyse events in Vienna, concretely in Dietrichstein palace from the view of an eyewitness. The point of interest is the town preparation for siege, description the two moth´s fights, the way George Vojciech Novodvorský percieved them and an outlook to Vienna defender everydayness. The essay contains also informations about consequential recon-struction of damaged palace.
