The comparison of acoustic properties of guitars from the same product line
Trávníčková, Hana ; Indrák, Michal (referee) ; Jirásek, Ondřej (advisor)
This work is dealing with acoustic features of Furch guitars. In theoretical introduction is possible to find an information about basic characteristics of a tone. Following chapter about acoustic guitars is dealing even with mostly used types of woods for their manufacturing. In special chapter are described spectres of signals, LPC analysis, sound radiation of instruments and Chladni figures. Mentioned terms have been evaluated from measurements and are available in practical part of this work also including description of implementation of the measurement. As an output of this work is a comparison of acoustic features of measured guitars, their colours and modes.
Effect of alcohol on speech signal
Kandus, Filip ; Tučková, Jana (referee) ; Sigmund, Milan (advisor)
The main theme of the thesis is to examine the influence of alcohol on the speech apparatus and speech signal. The first part is focused on symptoms and detection of alcohol concentration in the human body. The following part describes somescientific publications and projects, which dealt witha a similar theme. Also the czech documentation to german database ALC was created. Based on phonetic knowledge, Czech text was compiled. Different speakers were reading this text so we go tour own database of alcoholic and sober speech. Samples from individual speakers are processed using linear prediction, formant and cepstral analysis in MATLAB and the effect of alcohol on selected parameters of speech signal is evaluated.
Analysis of Formant Areas During Sung Vowels
Kukosa, František ; Švancara, Pavel (referee) ; Jirásek, Ondřej (advisor)
The study analyzes the formant zones of male voices in singing vowels with main focus on opera, chest and head vocal registers. The results of this work are based on the recordings of five singers, taken in an anechoic chamber. For the analysis of these recordings in the frequency domain were used the FFT algorithm and the LPC analysis. The results describe the nature of the individual registers and show the importance of the singing formants for singers. Especially for opera vocal register where the vocal formants, along with a natural vibrato technique, are very important.
Spectrum analysis of the violin
Hanzálek, Pavel ; Smékal, Zdeněk (referee) ; Jirásek, Ondřej (advisor)
This work focuses on the problems of sound spectrum analysis and directional characteristics of the violin. The beginning of the work deals with the development of the violin, generally about timbre and directional characteristics. The theoretical part also deals with different types of sound spectra and LPC analysis on general. The practical part deals with practical tasks of work such as a description of the application created in MATLAB for examination of the time spectrum of tones, FFT spectra, formants by LPC analysis and display of directional characteristics. It also deals with the describing the methods, the process of sensing and measuring two different violins with different types of strings and age of corpus.
Analysis of the spectra of violas with respect to their different bodies
Smola, Ondřej ; Indrák, Michal (referee) ; Jirásek, Ondřej (advisor)
This work focuses on the spectral analysis of three different violas, the modern one, the renaissance one and viola da gamba. Further the work focuses on the formant areas, resonance modes of its resonance corpus and how the resonance modes influence the tembre of the instruments. The theoretical part deals with the history of viola, acoustic-mechanical features, which influence the wood resonance. The practical part focuses on creating the graphic forms of required data needed for spectral analysis, identifying the resonance modes of the instruments and directional characteristics. The sound spectrums of all instruments are compared across the whole practical part. The practical part contains spectrograms, graphs of LPC analysis, graphs of directional radiation and table with formant frequencies of both instruments.
