Controlling LEGO Powered-up Hub from EV3
Potoček, Jakub ; Polčák, Libor (referee) ; Hranický, Radek (advisor)
This work deals with the communication between two incompatible programmable LEGO bricks, the LEGO Mindstorms EV3 and the LEGO Control+ Technic Hub. The task of this work was to create a communication interface enabling the transfer of data between these two bricks and thus enable the EV3 brick to send and possibly also receive data from the Technic hub brick. During the creation of this work, I designed and constructed two prototypes using an optical interface for data transmission. The second prototype enables two-way communication. This enables data from sensors and function return values to be transferred to EV3. Despite the fact that the resulting solution does not allow fast enough data transfer due to the technical limitations of the Technic hub brick, this solution is suitable for use by owners of these LEGO building blocks looking for ways to use both bricks when creating models.
Controlling LEGO Technic Active Elements from EV3
V rámci tejto práce boli v rôznych iteráciách vytvorené radiče, ktoré rozširujú možnosti kocky EV3 ovládať motory, s použitím vlastných návrhov dizajnov plošných spojov a 3D tlačených puzdier. Okrem nich boli vyvinuté softvérové kódovacie bloky, ktoré umožňujú kocke komunikovať s týmito radičmi a ďalšími UART zariadeniami.
Library creating in Matlab/Simulink for sensors of Lego Mindstorm
Kovařík, Michal ; Doskočil,, Radek (referee) ; Křivánek, Václav (advisor)
his bachelor's thesis is a detailed analysis and communication with selected sensors from HiTechnic. The sensors are both digital and analog and offer a wide range of applications in robotics. They are designed for the Lego Mindstorms NXT 2.0 kit and they are compatible with the Lego Mindstorms EV3 kit used here. Selected sensors include a compass, gyroscope, accelerometer, barometer, force sensor, tilt sensor, and various types of infrared sensors. The content of the thesis includes a detailed description of the sensors and the method of communication with them. The result is the implementation of controllers for individual sensors in the Matlab and Simulink environment. Sample measurements with sensors were performed to verify the functionality of the controllers. The created controllers can be further utilized for education in the field of programming or automation.
Scratch software extension for the Lego Mindstorms robotic learning tool
PELIKÁN, Matěj
The aim of the final thesis was to develop an extension of the online block programming environment Scratch for controlling Lego Mindstorms on tasks from the textbook Robotics with LEGO? Mindstorms for 2nd grade elementary school.
Lego Mindstorm EV3 in Education of Programming and Robotics
Páral, Jaroslav ; Dvořák, Michal (referee) ; Orság, Filip (advisor)
In this bachelor thesis, we tackle the problem of software development for the Lego EV3 brick. We want to allow the beginner programmers to create complex programs that cannot be easily created using the original graphical programming interface. We provide comparison of several alternatives of the original system from performance and user point of view. Based on this comparison, we choose EV3RT as base for our work.We also present our object-oriented API built on top of the EV3RT system to ease the transfer from graphical to text programming. Therefore, we provide a suitable platform for the beginners, who already reached the limits of standard system and want to develop more complex programs demanding more computing power.
