Pre-school Religious Education of a Child
ČÍŽKOVÁ, Helena
The work deals with the contribution of Maria Montessori{\crq}s educational theory to the diadactics of meditation at pre-school age. In the first chapter the author deals with the psychology of pre-school children, takes into account the religiosity of this age group and claims that a child between the third and fifth year of age displays the notions of the ability to meditate. Furthermore, the work is dedicated to the definition of the concepts of meditation and contemplation. The meaning of meditation in the child{\crq}s world is determined and the first steps for sensitizing the child to a spiritual life are offered. This is followed by a description for practising concentration in the way M. Montessori described it in her educational theory. The last part is oriented to setting examples for practising concentration, which should lead the child to the world of meditation. Examples of meditative meetings take into account the playfulness and fantasy of the pre-school child and significantly influence her spiritual development.
