Agglomeration of animal feed mixtures
Moravec, Jan ; Lacina,, Lubor (referee) ; Svěrák, Tomáš (advisor)
The theoretical part of this work focuses on the description of mechanical properties of compound feed produced in cooperation with Mendel University in Brno. These properties are mainly flow properties, which are crucial for the technological processes of these mixtures. The first part of this work also contains a general information about commonly used shear devices. Jenike's Shear Cell and Rheometer FT4 from company Freeman Technology are described in more detail. Because of the complexity of the behavior of these materials, their properties are mostly found the experimental way, which is the main topic of the practical part of this work. In this section you can find a description of measurements performed on Jenike's Shear Cell and on the Rheometer FT4. Moreover measurements of strength and length of granules were undertaken. Further the analysis of powder feed mixtures on sieves is described. Materials analyzed were compound feeds for chickens. Mutually they differed in the content of mealworms. Pellets were made from the mixtures and were then also subjected to measurement.
Bulk properties of selected particulate matter from the point of view of various measuring techniques
Bógyiová, Csilla ; Fekete,, Roman (referee) ; Svěrák, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis focuses on particular materials and their flow properties. Handling of powder materials has an impact on technologic processes like storage, transport or dosage. In pharmacy flow properties are used for tabletting process of pills. For a correctly designed technologic process it is necessary to know the flow behaviour of powder materials. Measuring is the best way to study flow properties. The most commonly used instrument for measuring flowability are described in this thesis. Two different devices (Jenike shear device and Freeman FT4) were used to perform the experiments for the comparison of results. The tested materials were particular materials used in pharmacy. To further expand upon the research and to represent the importance of flowability, enclose to this work is a report regarding the examination of pyrolysis coke analyse from MOL Slovnaft.
Bulk properties of fine particulate solids in the industrial practice.
Bógyiová, Csilla ; Krištof, Ondřej (referee) ; Svěrák, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis focuses on the description of the characteristics and flow properties of powder materials. The study of powder material’s flow properties is demanding and hard. For a correctly designed technologic process it is necessary to know the flow behaviour of powder materials. Measuring is the best way to study flow properties. The aim of this thesis is to acquaintance the instruments which measure flow properties. Theoretical part of the thesis describes particular materials, ring shear tests with Jenike Shear Cell and evaluation using Mohr’s circles. Experiments were performed on two samples from the industrial practice. These samples are instant teas of various flavour. Attention was paid to the influence of humidity on the flowability of the materials. Results demonstrate that surface characteristics and humidity changes the flow behaviour of bulk properties. Consequently it is necessary to pay attention to these factors when technologic process is designed.
