This bachelor's thesis introduces the poetess Aḥlám al-Naṣr, who is one of the prominent figures in the field of the jihadist poetry. Drawing on available information and publications, it offers an insight to her life and sheds light on the basic ideas and circumstances that influenced the author in her work. At the same time, the work addresses the topic of the relationship between the Islamic State and popular culture. The primary focus is on poetry and its use, its functioning within propaganda, and the way in which jihadist ideas are reflected in it. The thesis aims to identify the core concepts, images and key ideological terms that ISIS works with and then interpret them in the context of the poetic work of Aḥlám al-Naṣr.
