The goal of this bachelor thesis is to present historical development of mosaic techniques in furniture and interior. Here are described techniques of veneering, intarsia, inlay, marquetry and parquetry. It is explained the birth of the techniques, characteristics, used materials and historical development. The result of this bachelor thesis is comparison of the main characteristics of those decorative techniques in the age of their birth and at the present.

The objective of this thesis is process of table transformation from family inheritance. In the thesis are described historical techniques of furniture decoration, including used materials and technologies, procedure of table restauration a procedure of creating an intarsia on the table top. Ornamentation from Pirot rugs – kilims was used to create intarsia. The result of the work is restored table with table top decorated with intarsia.
Art deco a jeho vliv na současný nábytkový design

The bachelor thesis deals with the art deco style. It describes the main characteristics, sources of inspiration, famous works or artists, but also the technologies used in this period. The whole work is accompanied by pictures so that the reader can create a comprehensive picture. The thesis focus on technologies, both the original ones used at the beginning of the 20th century, but also the modern technologies and their possibility to use the traditional Art Deco style furniture designs. It is demonstrated in the practical part.

The bachelor thesis deals with marquetry and presents this ornamental technique in the context of history and simultaneously brings contemporary approaches in it's use on the borderland between free and applied art up to date. Empirical part presents authorial project, which is devoted to theme of skateboarding. Particularly, the main concern is the creation of one's own design of inlaid skateboard descs.

Bachelor thesis is focused on description of decorative veeners manufacturing which are used for production of inlaid precast floor panels via a CNC laser machines. This work describes the old way and the modern way of production cut marquetry veneer. There are also introduced floorings similarly manufactured and the features of the laser machine. The thesis is based on the creation of the three parts of inlaid floor which were proposed and drawn by me. These parts were manufactured by a professional company. Finished intarsia were glued and pressed for three different carrier plates. Time duration for creation of these inlaid panels was measured and cost calculation for manual and machine production was determined. Furthermore the surface resistance to abrasion was examined according to ČSN 910276, impact resistance according to BS 3962, the varnish surface resistance against water according to ČSN 492120, surface roughness ČSN 490211, surface adhesion EN 311, density determination according to ČSN - EN 323 and moisture determination ČSN - EN 13183-1 and their subsequent evaluation.
Wood carving decorations in the interiors of the castle Hluboká and their context in Bohemia and Moravia

This bachelor thesis presents a detailed study of wood carving development in the interior of the chateau Hluboká nad Vltavou. These woodcarvings were made during 19th century, between the years 1838-1871. Artwork drafts for these carvings were made by the Viennese sculptor František Schroth, along with Franz Beer. Carving work itself was realized by Jan Vondruška, Jakub Zeiner, Jan Pták, and more. The work is largely focused on the architect's influence on woodcarvings, as well as their own carving and their relationship to the overall interior decoration including inlaid parquets. An integral part of the theicsis is a written selective catalog of discussed rooms in the chateau Hluboká, including rooms of compared castles - Lednice and Sychrov. The second and main subject of the study is specially comparison of interior woodcarvings in the castle Hluboká to interior woodcarvings in castles Lednice and Sychrov.
