The submitted diploma thesis deals with the development of the file service performed on the territory of the Czechoslovak, later independent Czech Republic. The theoretical part of the work is devoted to the history and development of the file service since 1945, when it takes into account the subsequent internal political and geopolitical changes that had an impact on this area. The main attention is focused on the transformation of the file service management from paper form, the file service management in electronic form, where due to the modernization of office and the growing volume of documents in electronic form the use of electronic file service systems and information systems managing documents. In this context, the thesis presents a comprehensive overview of legislative changes. The practical part of the work is devoted to the management of the file service and its differences in selected private law authors - lawyer, notary and bailiff.
