This thesis deals with the morganatic marriage of archdukess Eleonora and naval officer Alfons von Kloss in 1913, which was the first marriage of a Habsburg archdukess with a member of lower nobility. It focuses mainly on the analysis of the Imperial Austrian Family Statute and moganatic marriages of the Habsburg-Lorraine family. Furthermore, it deals with the Habsburgs of Austria-Teschen and the analysis of the Eleonora's marriage.
