Specifics of social work with HIV positive clients

This bachelor thesis deals with the specifics of social work with HIV positive clients. The aim of this work was to map these specifics and to create a comprehensive overview of services provided to HIV positive individuals, their family members and loved ones in the Czech Republic. The thesis itself contains basic information about HIV infection, description of high-risk groups most frequently affected by this infection and last but not least the specifics in life of HIV positive persons and social work realized with them. It also maps the prevalence of HIV/AIDS and services available for HIV positive in selected European countries. Finally, a short brochure was created from the information gathered during the work, containing most of the services available in the Czech Republic mentioned in the text. This brochure should serve as a source of help for HIV positive individuals in difficult life situations, or even in common matters.
