Roman spa and sauna world
Máslová, Jana ; Myslín, Jiří (referee) ; Dýr, Petr (advisor)
The building of Roman Baths and sauna world forms, along with a formerly-designed waterpark, a stand-alone recreational and sports compound in the vicinity of “Růžena's” quarry and the former “Hády” quarry in Brno. The mass of the object is nearly cubic, and in the cross direction it is complemented with an external atrium, with swimming pools situated next to the central glass-fronted part of the object. This bright space functions as a place of relaxation and offers a view of the city of Brno. The view and solar energy have been used in the south-western part as well, where a two-floor glass front has been designed. On the facades of the object there are narrow vertical windows which create an effect of dripping water. The primary architectonic plan has been to create an object offering relaxation, originated in the principles and traditions of Ancient Roman bathing, complemented with a sauna world and further related relaxation establishments.

The specified location for the design is located in the street Hády near the former quarries -Hády and Růženin lom. The place is surrounded by suburban recreational greenery and has sufficient accessibility. On a dedicated site is considered new and existing applications. The new use of the buildings includes a water park and Roman bath and the sauna world. The building of the Roman bath and sauna world will contain, in addition to the main operations also ancillary services and hydrotherapy treatments. The object is oriented at the southern edge of the land between the parking lot and the building of the Aqua Park. The object is designed as a three-storey with basement (1S), 1st floor (1NP) and 2nd floor (2NP). Mass solution is the arc plan. The input section is designed as a contiguous solid mass. The rear part is then designed as two separate halls. From the perspective of the construction is a reinforced concrete skeleton. Surface materials are plaster with metallic paint, glass and wood.
Obnova krajiny narušené těžbou na lokalitě Růženina lomu
Ghisi, Tomáš
Ghisi T. Brno, 2018. Restoring of landscapes damaged by mining in the location Růženin quarry. Bachelor thesis. Mendel university. This bachelor thesis is about the restoration of the landscape of the former Růženin quarry after the active mining of limestone in the first half of the twentieth century. The main focus of this thesis is summing up history of southern slope and detailed description of the quarry reclamation, which was carried out with attention to preserve valuable natural features of the area. The natural conditions of the area are described in detail thanks to terrain survey, and the evolution of the country is described on the basis of pictures from a different time. These data analyze the environmental problems of the landscape and propose steps, which may be useful as an additional method of protecting natural values of Růženin quarry, or as other possible ways in land management.
Vliv lesnického hospodaření na stav a kvalitu půd pařezin
Konečná, Martina
The present study deals with description of the state and quality of soil in coppice and comparing these variables with soils in the stands with a different type of management. One of the goals was also to describe the impact of forest management on the top soil. In order to implement the research were established four research plots on Hádecká platform so as to be within the same group of forest types, with similarity in tree species composition and history of the management, and also that differs by current type of management (false high forest without management, high forest, false high forest with active management and young coppice. The data collection was biphasic, in the first phase were measured the dendrometric data from which were subsequently calculated species composition within the research plots. Simultaneously was carried out sampling of humus and taking mixed samples of soil from the Ah horizon. In the second phase were collected undisturbed soil samples using the soil sampler. Samples from soil surveys were laboratory processed, quantified for each group of soil properties and then statistically evaluated by using ANOVA and PCA. The results have proven that the influence of forest management on state and quality of soil is not significant, it was also shown that the soil within the coppice was overall in favorable conditions. At the end of the present study is separated chapter dedicated to the application of the results in recommendations for forestry practice.
Comparison of haematological parameters selected groups of reptiles
Jenčík, Filip ; Vrabec, Vladimír (advisor) ; Koleška, Daniel (referee)
The thesis focuses on the comparison of selected groups of reptiles with respect to the composition of blood. The first part of the thesis analyses selected available reference works from the current perspective of understanding in both domestic and international sources. A great deal of attention is paid to the procedure of collection of blood samples, preparation of blood cell films and their analysis. The thesis also comprises voluminous information on qualitative and quantitative aspects of haematology of lizards, turtles and snakes. The issue of differences in haemogram of selected group of reptiles is tackled taking into consideration the facts influencing the haemogram of the reptiles, such as the age and size of reptiles, seasonal changes, hibernation, the impact of the environment, nutrition as well as the method of breeding in - captivity or free range. The second part of the work concentrates on the collection of blood samples, preparation of blood cell films, identification of blood elements of green iguana Iguana iguana (Linnaeus, 1758), red-eared slider Trachemys scripta (Thunberg et Schoepff, 1792) and red-tailed boa Boa constrictor (Linnaeus, 1758). The samples collected from these creatures were analysed as for representation of blood components (erythrocytes, haematocrit, haemoglobin, leucocytes, heterophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, azurocytes, eosinophils, basophiles) and the measured values were compared against the published irreferential values and within the group of these creatures. Having analysed the blood cell films we have arrived at the conclusion that the morphological features of blood cells of the examined reptiles were identical with the parameters set out in the literature. Morphology of the blood cells of the monitored reptiles varies. Our results indicate that blood count as well as differential blood count of the examined creatures fits in the limits of the published referential works. The examined samples confirm the differences in numbers of individual types of blood cells of lizards, turtles and snakes. In summary it would be desirable to examine a larger number of creatures in order to obtain the optimal number of results.

Srovnání ekologické situace vybraných krajinných prvků a geomorfologických dominant jižní Moravy
Muchová, Marcela
The diploma thesis deals with comparison of the ecological situation in the national natural monument "Stránská skála", Sites of Community Importance "Jižní svahy Hádů" and natural park "Výhon". All the three localities are associated with sedimentary limestone bedrock, similar geological and historical evolution. Furthermore, the diploma's thesis deals with the anthropogenic problems on the selected locations and there is preliminary evaluated degree of landscape degradation in the historical context. Geological and pedological data of representative samples from all the localities are interpreted in chapter results and discussion.
