Gabriela Mistral's pseudonym selection: Gabriele D'Annunzio, Frederic Mistral and Gabriela Mistral

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to examine the origin of Gabriela Mistral's literary pseudonym, particularly, the probability of the pen name being chosen by her, in order to honour two european writers, an Italian writer Gabriele D'Annunzio and a French writer Frederic Mistral. This work contains general information concerning pen names, their creation and use in Europe and Latin America, also the biography of Gabriela Mistral, Gabriele D'Annunzio and Frederic Mistral, including the comparism of their lives and aesthetics. This work further explores Gabriela Mistral's possible reasons for using the pseudonym, its history, origin and meaning. The bachelor thesis includes a résumé in Spanish.
