European Union information policy at the time of the Bangemann's activities in comparison with USA

(in English) The thesis "Information Policy of European Union in Bangemann's activities period in comparison with USA" is devoted to the Information policy issue applied by the European Union and the United States of America. The thesis structure is defined at the earliest; afterwards the basic terms are followed. The thesis describes the European Union history, which provides context needed to be able to understand the European Union Information policy. The description and evaluation of the European Information policy in Bangemann's activities period in comparison with USA in the same time period and the possibility of mutual utilization of pros of the Information policy of both countries is the aim of this thesis. The following part is occupied with the comparison of EU and USA Information policy at the beginning of 21st century.

Europe 2020 Strategy: Are National Goals Reasonable?

The current economic strategy of the European Union - the Europe 2020 Strategy - has defined five measurable Headline Targets to enhance economic growth and allowed the Member States to set their own national numerical values for these targets. This thesis analyses quality of this target setting process. First, it tries to figure out whether the targets have been set better than in the preceding Lisbon Strategy. Second, it examines whether the National Targets have been defined clearly and unequivocally. Third and the most important, based on original empirical analysis, the thesis evaluates whether the National Targets have been determined reasonably with respect to general capacities of individual European economies. The main results reveal that some learning from the Lisbon Strategy has been made, but the quality of the National Targets is insufficient and should be increased. The latest information programs and initiatives of the EU

The thesis deals with the topic of the Information Policy of the European Union. It is focused on the development, principles and strategic plans from the beginning of the 21st century to the present. The aim of the thesis is to characterize and evaluate the past and current information programs of the European Union. The thesis describes the Lisbon Strategy which was the first major document that defined the direction of the European Union. Analysis of regional policy of the EU with focus on achieved outcomes

The European Union aims to reduce interregional disparities through its regional policy. This thesis deals with the effectiveness of EU regional policy and trends of regional disparities according to selected indicators. In the case study the impact of EU regional policy is observed in Ireland, the Czech republic and Bulgaria. Regional disparities are examined at NUTS 2 level. The Williamson curve is tested to explore the association between the level of economic development and level of disparities. In the comparative study the values of indicators are compared to the EU average. In the end, the thesis is focused on evaluation of EU regional policy efectiveness and seven recommendations are proposed to contribute to the improvement of EU regional policy so that goals of Europe 2020 Strategy are achieved.

Strategy of the European Union in the area of information policy focused on libraianship

The aim of this thesis is to describe and evaluate policie, programs and projects of the European Union's information policy. It is focused on the librarianship with a reflection of Czech projects in this area. In the introduction, the so-called Bangemann report is mentioned, which is considered as a milestone in the development of information society. This report laid the foundation for other strategic documents, which were the eEurope, including following action plans. There are other two important documents mentioned in the following chapters, i.e. i2010 - European information society for growth and employment, and EUROPE 2020 - A strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. The core of the work is formed by a description of programs, funding European projects in the area of librarianship and projects, which originated from those programs. Given the trend of the 21st century is the digitization, projects in this area are described in this thesis. This is especially the European Digital Library, Europeana, and many other partial projects. The penultimate chapter is devoted to current projects in the field of digitization in the Czech Republic. Lisabon Strategy and Its Implementation in Czech Republic

In 2000, the EU, under the influence of its current progress in the integration process, established a list of fairly ambitious goals in the economic, social and environmental issues, which it had wanted to achieve by 2010. The reform program has been named the Lisbon Strategy and has often been paraphrased as "catch up and overtake the U. S." Shortly after its launch, however, it began to be clear that such radical reform was not realistically possible, especially because of its complexity, a lack of willingness of Member States to implement these reforms and a poor set of implementation tools. The Lisbon Strategy has been followed by a new EU global reform document for 2020, Europe 2020, mainly due to the fact that the problems plaguing European countries remain the same and they haven't been adequately resolved by the Lisbon Strategy. The aim of this paper is to analyze the implementation of the Lisbon strategy in the Czech Republic, identify in which areas the CR has been successful, and in which it has lagged behind the performance of other EU members as well as where it could achieve a more significant progress. Influence of the European Commission on the Adoption of the Public Service Law in the Czech Republic

The master's thesis focuses on the role of the European Commission in the adoption of the Public Service Law (zákon č. 234/2014 Sb., o státní službě) in the Czech Republic. Its goal is to identify particular European Commission's tools of influence and their utilisation in the analysed case. The case study puts stress not only on hard methods (such as ex ante conditionality), but also on soft forms of influence (e.g. socialisation or persuasion). The Commission's tools were sorted according to Frank Schimmelfennig and Ulrich Sedelmeier's typology: 1) External-Incentive-Model; 2) Social-Learning- Model and 3) Lesson-Drawing-Model. The thesis combines two methodological approaches - process tracing and discursive analysis of relevant Czech actors. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews and publically accessible documents.

Regionální operační program v novém programovém období 2014-2020

Regional operational program in the new programming period 2014-2020. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2015. This bachelor thesis is focused on the comparison of the regional operational program between the period 2007-2013 and the new programming period 2014-2020. Comparison will be made also between strategic documents. Emphasis is placed on changes that will affect the applicants for subsidies, which are munici-palities, counties and regions. In the first part is characterized regional policy and its development and goals. The second part presents strategic documents at European and national level. It also describes the IROP for the period 2014-2020 and compared with the ROP 2007-2013. In the last section are outlined key changes, and how will these changes view applicants for subsidies.

Europe 2020 strategy and achieving its goals by member states in the years 2010-2015

This bachelor thesis focuses on the growth strategy of the current decade - Europe 2020. After the failure of the Lisbon Strategy there were again set some ambitious goals, which should lead the economy of the European Union to the so-called " new growth " . The main goal of the analysis is on the basis of evolution in the five core areas of strategy in the years 2007-2015, to verify or disprove the hypothesis that so far , the European Union was successful in achieving its growth targets , embodied in the ten-year Europe 2020 strategy. The gathered results disproved the hypothesis, although not in all areas we can talk about the failure of performance of the strategy. The main causes of failure can be considered a long recovery from the economic crisis and also the adverse impact of the migration crisis in present day.
