Food industry in the Czech Republic and abroad

The topic of this thesis is Food Law in the Czech Republic and Abroad. The purpose of the thesis is to introduce food law of the Czech Republic and England, with an emphasis on EU food law. As this field is very broad, only basic attributes and some interesting parts and issues of food law may be covered. The thesis is divided into seven chapters. In the first chapter relevant legal sources are introduced. Food law is regulated by many rules. Generally, these sources may be divided into primary and secondary legislation both at national and EU level. Furthermore, some important international aspects of food law are laid down as well. The second chapter simply is to present legal definitions of essential terms within the scope of Czech and EU law. The third chapter is crucial one for following chapters as it establishes most of general principles in environmental law as well as principles specifically applicable in the field of food law. It is often referred to these principles later in the thesis. Furthermore, this chapter also contains an introduction of the European Safety Food Authority and the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed as well as many ways of national control of food safety. This thesis deals with the current food safety policy at the level of the European Union. The first and second parts describe origin of food law and european legal regulations in the field of food safety, the major part of this bachelor thesis is focused on food hygiene and food labeling. I deal with actual cases related to food safety, such as case of methanol (September 2012) or junk food imports from Poland to the Czech Republic. Next section is focused on the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) and their activity. The last chapter characterizes food safety in the Czech Republic.

This thesis deals with the current food safety policy and the general principles of food law. The first and second parts describe a progress and current legal regulations in the field of food safety. The aim of the third part is to analyse three judgements of the European Court of Justice, related to the food safety. Next section is focused to the European Food Safety Authority and its work - providing assistance and independent scientific advices. The last part describes a present situation of the food safety system in the Czech Republic.

The bachelor thesis deals with the European food safety policy and European Union Agency - EFSA.The first part briefly summarizes the most important moments of history and describes the principles of general food law. Next section is focused on some topics of food safety: welfare, food labelling, control and crisis management. Next part deals with the European Food Safety Authority - structure and activities. The last section involves case studies related to GM food and feed and food hygiene authority in the Czech Republic.

European Policy Concerning Safety of Foods

The theme of the bachelor thesis is the European policy concerning safety of foods. Its objective is to evaluate the importance of the food safety assurance for the European market and European consumers. The first part briefly summarizes the most important moments of history {--} from food sufficiency assurance for everyone to creation of elaborate system named {\clqq}from the Farm to the Fork`` which includes whole food and feed chain. This part also defines essential notions associated with given theme. Next parts involve food legislation and establishements which create legal enactments and control if these enactments are respected. The last section deals with the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed and the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points. Both of these systems are fundamental for assuring the consumers safety. The thesis faciliates to create the idea of current system complexity for food safety assurance.
