Training set generation system for reconstruction of electrical impedance tomography images
Zemiti, Samia ; Aloph, Clark ; Mikulka, Jan
This paper introduces an innovative approach to simulating Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) through MATLAB, aimed at advancing the accuracy and reliability of internal imaging using electrodes. We address the critical challenge of reconstructing interior images with high fidelity by simulating inhomogeneous mediums. Our methodology involves the generation of synthetic datasets, encompassing various inhomogeneity scenarios, followed by applying forward solutions to ascertain voltage measurements indicative of interior conductivity variations. The research emphasizes the creation of an adaptive framework capable of simulating real-world scenarios within a controlled digital environment, thereby enhancing the predictive capabilities of EIT systems in diverse applications ranging from medical imaging to industrial inspection.
Image Reconstruction in Electrical Impedance Tomography through Multilayer Perceptron
Kouakouo Nomvussi, Serge Ayme ; Mikulka, Jan
This study introduces a novel image reconstruction algorithm designed to excel in challenging scenarios with noisy datasets. Comparative evaluations against established methods, the Total Variation technique and the Gauss-Newton algorithm, are conducted using key performance metrics including the correlation coefficient and structural similarity index. The Results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm displays variable performance in noise-free data compared to Total Variation but consistently outperforms it in the presence of noise. Furthermore, when contrasted with the Gauss-Newton algorithm, the proposed method consistently exhibits superior outcomes, particularly in scenarios involving noisy datasets, where the Gauss-Newton algorithm faces limitations. This study underscores the robustness of the proposed algorithm in noisy conditions, suggesting its potential for applications where accurate image reconstruction is critical.

Introduction: Left-ventricular (LV) distension and consequent pulmonary congestion are complications frequently discussed in patients with severe LV dysfunction treated with veno- arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA ECMO). The goal of this study was to describe the influence of high VA ECMO flows to LV distension, lung hemodynamics, and lung fluid accumulation. Methods of LV decompression were studied to prevent lung edema. Methods: In all experiments porcine models under general anesthesia were used. The effects of high extracorporeal blood flow (EBF) on LV heart work were assessed in a chronic heart failure model. The effects of LV afterload on lung fluid accumulation were evaluated by electrical impedance tomography (EIT) on acute heart failure models. Phase and frequency filtration and mathematical analysis were applied to the raw EIT data. Subsequently, mini- invasive techniques of LV decompression were evaluated for LV work. Results: The stepwise increases of VA ECMO flow improved both hemodynamic and oxygenation parameters. Nevertheless, it also caused distension and increased work of LV. The rise in EBF led to increased pulmonary capillary wedge pressure and lung fluid accumulation assessed by EIT in heart failure. The methods for LV decompression (Impella pump, atrial...

The bachelor thesis deals with physical principles of the electrical impedance tomograph Picus (EIT). Moisture distribution in different tree species, norway spruce (Picea abies), silver birch (Betula pendula), pedunculate oak (Quercus robur) and thein seasonal change. Measurement is always carried out on the same thirty trees, fifteen trees from the urban environment and fifteen trees from the forest environment. Tomography measurements are proceed every month of the year, I have drawn up a swatch tomography from these results to evaluace images made by the device. Changes distribution of the impedance wood are compared among the tree Gross and thein habitats.
