Killingerová, Michaela ; Tunkrová, Věra (advisor) ; Kačírková, Eliška (referee)
European integration is very specific process especially in terms of its complexity. Not all the European Union participating countries are interested in full integration. Such an approach is characteristic of the Kingdom of Denmark (hereinafter referred to as "Denmark"). The aim of this thesis is therefore to introduce and clarify the position of Denmark in light of its specific relation with European Union. The main focus area will be to talk about opt-outs and how they influence level of integration and Denmark's decision-making options within EU. I will also look at what would abolition of opt-outs bring. The first part outlines the characteristics of Denmark. The second chapter is presenting the history of Denmark in the European integration process. The third part refers to the negotiated exceptions and analyzes their impact, whether positive or negative. Finally, the last part of the thesis focuses on the results of the Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union
