Vavrek, Pavol ; Váňa, Daniel (advisor) ; Tajovský, Ladislav (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to pin down the economic and political development of Slovakia starting after the end of the World War Two in 1945 and ending with the upheaval of the February events in 1948 and subsequent takeover by the communist party. This period is a significant milestone in Slovak and Czechoslovak economic history, hence it deserves proper attention. The thesis chronologically describes the development of Slovak and Czechoslovak political scene, particularly rivalry of the strongest political subjects. The author seeks to analyze individual economic reforms and their effects on Slovak society. To point out the consequences of these reforms, the thesis gives factual tables and annexes. Doing so, the author does not aim to pass unfounded evaluative conclusions, the goal, indeed, is to serve the reader with the most precise as possible summary of economic and political events of the times.
