Hazardous components: A case study in textile waste management
Shtukaturova, Anastasia
Textile waste, a problem that has been somewhat overlooked for many years, is now coming to the fore.1 The textile value chain is long\nand complex, with over 8000 chemicals used in different manufacturing processes.2 A wide variety of chemicals are used in the manufacture of textile products for the improvement of essential properties and performance of textiles. Chemicals used in textiles significantly improve their quality and appearance. However, the harmful effects of these chemicals can occur at various stages of textile production and processing, such as dyeing, printing and finishing, as well as during use by consumers and at the end-of-life stage.3 There is a lack of safety information on the presence and use of all of these chemicals in consumer products.

Possibilities of misuse of selected chemical warfare agents in a terrorist attack in the Czech Republic
HŘEBEČEK, Jan
The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of the misuse of chemical warfare agents in a terrorist attack. In the theoretical part, the terms terrorism, chemical terrorism, dangerous chemical substances and mixtures and chemical warfare agents were defined on the basis of legal regulations and professional literature. Furthermore, chemical warfare agents are described in detail, the possibilities of their spread, effects of use and, based on a theoretical study of sources, a list of serious terrorist acts in which chemical agents have been used and the current security situation in the fight against chemical terrorism in the Czech Republic. In the practical part, selected BCHL were evaluated on the basis of significant kriteria and simulated a terrorist attack in the Prague metro. The aim of the work was to evaluate the possibilities of misuse of selected BCHL in a terrorist attack and to answer the research question whether the use of chemical terrorism in the Czech Republic is currently a threat. Based on the obtained results, it can be stated that chemical terrorism is currently a threat in the Czech Republic. The reason is the relatively easy availability of these substances, the low financial costs of carrying out an attack and the minimum requirements for the expertise of attackers. The work offers a relatively comprehensive view of the issue.
Preparedness of the selected area to participate in implementation of the tasks of civil protection during the release of hazardous chemicals.
ŠEVČÍK, Martin
This diploma thesis and its research deals with the preparedness of the population, pedagogues and representatives of municipal council, to participate in tasks of population protection during the leak of dangerous chemical substances. The work develops research from my Bachelor thesis from 2017, where was my task to verify preparedness of the integrated rescue system to deal with the leak of dangerous chemical substances. The aim of this diploma thesis was to find out, if is the selected area able to adequately respond to hazards arising from the leak of hazardous chemical substances. In order to assess preparedness, slightly different questionnaires were used, those questionnaires were answered by the residents of České Budějovice, teachers working at secondary schools in České Budějovice and representatives of the city and representatives of the South Bohemian Region. The results of the questionnaire survey are presented using descriptive statistics, interesting results are shown using graphs. A high degree of unpreparedness of respondents was found. According to the results of the questionnaire survey, some respondents may also behave dangerously in the events of leakage of hazardous chemicals. The contribution of this work should be increasing and improving awareness in this area. To this purpose, was created an information leaflet containing lot of important information, which was distributed to the population. The benefit which this work has already brought, is to alert representatives from city and region councils, as well as teaching staff, to improve their knowledge of hazardous substances. According to the feedback of several representatives, analyzes focusing the transport of dangerous substances can be expected in the near future. This work can be used as well as a source of information and can be used to compare it with other researches.
Agroterorism
KOLÍNOVÁ, Zuzana
This thesis deals with the issue of agroterorism. The aim is to assess whether this mode of attack is a threat to the Czech Republic. First, the term terrorism, its types, methods, history and statistical overview of the attacks are defined. Furthermore, the thesis is focused on agroterorism, its definition and ways of implementation. Contamination of food, water, livestock infections can be the target of terrorists to cause panic and paralyze society. Contamination can be done using a variety of commonly used chemicals such as pesticides, herbicides, industrial chemicals, petroleum products, zoonoses, and common infectious diseases. The results analyze and elaborate in detail the specific situation of agroterorism in the Czech Republic and the possible crisis scenarios describe how the Czech Republic could be threatened. The discussion contains a summary of all the knowledge, there is a reflection on the research question, its answer and the most probable possibility and method of attack. Agro-terrorist attacks have the disadvantage that their identification, extent and origin can be difficult to ascertain, or this finding may take a long time. Often, this is a low-budget mode of attack. During the detection of the causes and the agents of the disease, other people are infected and the destruction of the devastating consequences is more demanding and even more protracted. In this way, attacks can cripple or kill a large number of people over a very short period of time. Detecting the identity of attackers can be lengthy, as attacks can be carried out in places other than the real threat. The biggest problem in the field of agro-terrorist attacks for the Czech Republic is the impact of the agro-terrorist attacks in another country, with even unintentional overlapping with neighboring countries. Such an impact may be the import of contaminated food.

Skladování a využití chemických látek v zemědělství ve vztahu k životnímu prostředí
NEKOLNÝ, Tomáš
This work deals with chemical substances and mixtures used in agricultural activities. In particular, it concerns the storage and use of these substances in relation to the environment. Some substances used in agriculture have different hazardous properties. Incorrect handling or incorrect storage may cause significant damage to the environment, particularly water and soil contamination and damage to other environmental compartments. The aim of the work is to identify these substances in terms of their potential impact on the environment and to propose an optimal way of their storage and handling on the farm.
