The aim of the practical part was to find how much the canistherapy has improved over the years in organizations providing social services in České Budějovice. Two major research questions were posed to identify these goals. 1: How has the canistherapy in České Budějovice developed historically? 2: How has the the canistheraphy improved in České Budějovice over the years? A qualitative research strategy has been used for research, using a polling metod and a semistructured interview technique. The research team consisted of workers from three organizations providing social services in České Budějovice and was completed by a canistherapists, who visit the organization on a regular basis. The results were processed using the method of open coding. The results showed that the standards of canistherapy are still improving. We can see this fact on changes within the organizations - the number of clients and their interest in canistherapy is growing. It was found that there is an active effort to unify and include canistherapy into the methods of social work. This work can be used by the public, canistherapists and organizations providing social services, to describe canistherapy as a focused therapy for the clients, and to inform about the efforts to include the canistherapy into the methods of social work.
