Description of CNC milling and grinding machines

Graduation from the Bachelor course at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is finished by the thesis, which is focused in division of machine tools, further dealing with more detailed description of main types and features of sub-groups CNC milling and grinding machines. The thesis also includes progress of numerically controlled machines and comparison with present-day computer controlled machines. In the end the essay lists domestic and foreign producers of CNC machines and describes contemporary trend in their production.

This thesis describes two ways to manufacture pattern equipment: the classic one and production using CNC milling machine. It provides information needed to manufactu-re wooden pattern equipment and presents materials, machines and tools used to pro-duce the equipment now and in the past. Moreover this study deals with construction of patterns and cores. The aim is to compare both ways of manufacture using particu-lar pattern made by the company Slévárny Třinec, a.s., which is one of the leading foundries in the Czech Republic. The results of this study are conclusions and proposa-ls for pattern equipment manufacturers.
