Kryška, Vojtěch ; Kiska, Tomáš (referee) ; Jirásek, Ondřej (advisor)
This thesis deals with comparison of oboe, bassoon and english horn reeds in different dynamics and tempos and also with measuring directional characteristics of these instruments. It also deals with measuring frequency spectrum of duduk, zurna and whistle of bagpipes.
Design and realization of specialized milling machine
Janoštík, Milan ; Kratochvíl, Ctirad (referee) ; Krejsa, Jiří (advisor)
ABSTRACT This bachelor’s thesis deal with the design and building of prototype of specialized milling machine for production of reeds used in woodwind instruments, especially for bassoons and double bassoons. The first part is focused on the design itself, including the milling type, motor selection, necessary computations, etc, necessary for virtual model design. The prototype of specialized milling machine, replacing manual reeds production represents the main outcome of this work. The machine will be used by musicians of Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra in Zlín.
Comparison of spectrum and directional dharacteristics of double reed instruments
Cočev, Jiří ; Buzzi, Mario (referee) ; Jirásek, Ondřej (advisor)
The Bachelor's thesis deals with analysis of the sound signals of double reed wind musical instruments. Research focuses mainly on properties of the reed and how properties of reed affects the overall sound of the instrument. For the description of the signals were used FFT, LPC, Autocorrelation and Cepstral analysis. In conclusion, the thesis offers possible future direction for the experimental research of double reed wind musical instruments.
