Németh, Ondřej ; Myslín,, Jiří (referee) ; Dýr, Petr (advisor) ; Petříček, Tomáš (advisor)
The Bachelor's thesis is based on an architectural study which was done in the winter semester of the 4th year of my bachelor's studies. The aim was to propose an alternative option to use two former industrial buildings number 24 and 25 destined for demolition. This thesis focuses only on the conversion of the building no.24. The main idea of this work is to create objects for small and medium businesses in the center of the former factory complex Baťa company. Even though the area is dilapidated, still has its urban and architectural quality and the huge potential for new uses. This conversion would object as part of this unique complex preserve while there brought activities creating new jobs, does not burden public resources.
Conversion of Grain Silo in Zlin
Blažek, Jan ; Štikar, Jaroslav (referee) ; Nový, Alois (advisor) ; Donaťáková, Dagmar (advisor)
The Bachelor’s Thesis is based on the architectural study which was done in the summer semester of the third year of my bachelor’s studies. The goal was to create an alternative way how to use this building. The new owner wants to use it mainly for storage and other, mainly auxiliary services. That is why concrete silos were torn down and the object should be turned into a standard multi-stage structure. The main idea of this work is to suggest alternatives what may remain a private initiative. Not only that would therefore not demand additional public expenditure, it could also attract a wide audience with its attractive content. The proposal outlines a friendly variant to the public resources and also has a positive economic benefit within the city of Zlin. That includes adding attractive features into the original grain silos‘ spaces – indoor skydiving, indoor diving, climbing wall etc. This would create an adrenaline centre accompanied with supporting features - commercial areas, a restaurant with a terrace and accommodation. Visual access to internal activities while maintaining the character of the Bata architecture from the main visual axis by this extraordinary object would not only be more attractive, it could also ensure its long-term future.

Krátka, Barbora ; Grísová, Petra (referee) ; Havliš, Karel (advisor)
The content of this diploma thesis is an urban study with the architectural details of the former Bata Industrial Park in Partizánske, and a particular conversion program for the building. My goal was to find a suitable concept for converting building no. 61 with respect to the city, to the people living in it, and to reintegrate into the life of a building that is empty today, unused and dilapidated. The goal was not to forcefully fill the functions of the building, but in successive steps and phases to find a solution how to reuse the building and to point to the factory as a element of the city's foundation and also to highlight the unique architecture of the Baťa period.
