Awareness of palliative care, ways of providing palliative care and attitudes to palliative care from the point of view of general practitioners, hospital staff and the public in the Vysočina Region.

The diploma's thesis has been divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part outlines these terms, i.e. palliative care, palliative care education, awareness of palliative and attitudes to palliative care providing their definitions and a brief introduction to palliative care from historical and social perspective. The theoretical part also addresses the legislation related to palliative care. The research part focuses on surveying the attitudes and awareness of palliative care to these events held by general practitioners, hospital staff, the public. Based on qualitative survey, the thesis aims to find out about the general practitoners', hospital staffs' and publics attitudes to the notions of palliative care in Vysočina Region. The collected data was processed in qualitative analysis. Open-ended questions were processed by means of open coding and subsequently a thematic analysis was used. Eight thematic units were identified. Subsequently, the results were interpreted and compared with information found in the literature, offering a basic insight into the issue.
